seriously...we saw something tonight that was almost otherworldly...
we knew about the wrestling and the crazy moves...but the kicks and the punching?...his shots were straight as an arrow...thrown from halfway across the ring....

i`m glad i dvd`d this.....words don`t do it justice...

I went over the bloody elbow and all the pundits over there are clamoring for the sperfight of Jones versus Anderson Silva instead of GSP. Are they nuts? The size differential would be insane and Silva would be taken down at will, shit if Sonnen did it, what does one thing would happen here? Sorry, that would be murder and I mean no disrespect to Silva.

No lie, we all kept saying here that hes letting Rua catch his breath, finish him dont leave him hang around. Well, for a young fighter, he fought to his coaching and again WOW what a performance.
dana`s guy didn`t win...so no bonus for jones....and that`s laughable...
i think dana was hoping to get a little more mileage out of rua..he`s only 29 and jones` whole career lays ahead of him......but jones destroyed the rua mystique.....obliterated it...and in the process f`s up the whole lt heavywt division at the top...
this causes all kinds of problems for white...who the hell are you gonna find to fight this animal?...it basically makes a high profile division null and void at the top....
and i couldn`t be happier...tough break,dana...:SIB

Shogun looked gassed when he got rocked. I thought if he could just pace it out and extend the fight, that Bones would gas and get sloppy. He left openings for Shogun, he just wasn't able to take advantage of it.
Lets please stop all this greatest of all time, never will lose, yada yada talk. I'm pretty sure there was that same talk with Machida and he got destroyed.
ps- I did have fun watching the fight. Had a bunch of friends over, and enjoyed every fight.

He didn't tap to strikes. The ref stopped it. You took what someone wrote in here, and ran with it like you saw it yourself.

just admit the fighter you backed got smoked and you underestimated the future aka jon jones
and if the ref would have gotten there 3 seconds later it would have been a tap out. Shogun wanted nothing to do with jones. Did we see 1 leg kick from rua?

thoughts on the Lorenzo Fertitta statement about super fight Silva vs Jones? Has to be a bargaining chip to use vs GSP right? GSP seems like he is going to demand alot to move up... I would love to see silva GSP but after Silva beats GSP first.

I think you are being too hard on Bucs. He has a point. It may have looked like Shogun took a beating but that just because he was using the rope-a-dope trying to gas Jones out.
That's why he just lay there after he was taken down and absorbed blow after blow to the face. If he weren't letting Jones beat on him, he would have been much more active off his back.
He was just following his corner, they were yelling to him in portuguese "don't hit him, don't get up, don't do anything, he will get tired!".
