well good to see ya caught the last half....great show...on every Thursday.

Jason Day sounds ready, I really think he's got a great shot at winning.....and one thing is for sure...nobody in MMA has better rubber guard then Day:SIB

HA! I must have missed Day completely... I tuned in just as they were talking about Sherk, the heavyweight division, etc... But yea, I was gonna say I like the show and ask when it was on... Ive always thought the mma guys on TAGG radio just completely suck... :SIB

And ur right about Day... I love his use of the rubber guard (a great guard for MMA)... Unfortunately, i know Bisping has worked a bit w/ Eddie Bravo, but still it is a difficult guard to break/pass no matter who u are.

I expect to see a standup match for the most part... looking forward to it... if i add to any play, it will be Day.. i wouldnt be surprise if the odds improve closer to fight time. :)

yeah...ya missed the Jason Day interview by about 2 minutes....and yes the show is amazing Joe (the host) knows so many in MMA, he knows stuff before most, he's got at least 50 guys on speed dial, guy is totally "in the know" and really knows his stuff:SIB Also, the show sometimes is on at 10 EST, sometimes midnight, sometimes 1am, check schedule to find out time (and sometimes if Jays game goes long it will be on a super weird time, so if Jays game goes extra innings it can be on super late, or sometimes it isn't on at all)

And you may be correct with Day odds, I am going to wait, not many know about Day. I have loved this guy since early last year, good to see he's finally getting the exposure he deserves:SIB

But GSP is still my man crush:142smilie

I don't get it. You talk bad about Hughes and such, but then fail to realize that Alves hasn't fought anyone but a can of pinto beans. I've said this since day 1.

Alves beat an OVERRATED Karo, the guy sucks, and bored his way to victories. Anytime Karo's faced anyone with any quality he's lost. As far as losing to Alves, and as much as I loved it, he landed a LUCKY knee in a fight where Alves was getting handled.

5 FIGHT win streak over Tito's training partner Tony DeSouza...um seriously? Chris Lytle...CAN.

I can almost GURANTEE this fight goes exactly like this.

Ladies and gentlemen, the score cards are in and all 3 judges score this bout 30-27, and you're winner Matt Hugggggghhhesss.

I actually have no interest in this fight or a favorite fighter. I actually hate Matt Hughes. I simply don't like fighters with weak and fake winning streaks hyped up.

I see what u mean, BUCS...

I see what u mean, BUCS...

.. and that Hughes victory very well could happen... but all of Alves' seven victories (yes, many were scrubs) were in dominating fashion... only one went to decision, and that was a fight where he dominated John Alessio. Alves doesnt just squeak out victories over those weaker opponents.

But i also think Hughes' more recent competitors (w/ exception of GSP) are given too much credit... as i said earlier, BOTH Hughes and Alves dominated Lytle... and Joe Riggs never had a chance against any ground fighter.... and i just cant erase memories of that first loss to BJ and the losses to GSP where Hughes just never posed a threat whatsoever. I know Alves isnt on those guys level, but i could see Alves doing what GSP did to Hughes in their second fight (head kick set up the TKO).

It's not like i put the house on Alves... i just think he has a real shot at the upset... obviously some others feel the same or Hughes would be a bigger favorite... the line is steadily improving in favor of Hughes.

I think its going to be a great fight w/ two very different styles... I am worried that Hughes could come out and get his way w/ the clinch b/c he seemed to be working on a greco clinch against GSP... and that worked well for Parisyan against Alves... but Alves has never really had a good first round.. he is a very slow starter, but hard for me to discount all of those TKO/KOs in the first & second rounds dished out by Alves..

The only reason I even want to watch this PPV is for one reason.

THE TRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTH

Yea, I think Brandon Vera makes a HUGE comeback against Werdum... i see another quick KO for THE TRUTH.

Wish i made an even bigger play on Vera at -120... still considering adding to my play now that the line has worsened.

Brandon Vera = best kicks in MMA (w/ Thiago Alves a close second :SIB )

GL if u make a play on him.

I totally agree with Bucs on this one. Matt will get the takedown by shooting or getting to the clinch and from there it will be ground, pound, grind, rinse and repeat.

As sponge said, I don't have a lot of faith in someone who got subbed by the much smaller Hughes teamate Spencer.

I think Alves only chance in this fight is to land a Karo like knee against Hughes.
Hughes was KO'd by Pele with a knee while shooting in for the takedown.

I just see a grinding win for Hughes.

I will NEVER bet for or against that Fukhead Vera after his fight with big Shart Sylvia. I bet big on him as he had all the fighting advantages. Much better strikes, wrestling and subs. I don't mind losing bets when I think the far more talented guy gave it his all and just had a bad night. I don't believe this was the case with Vera. He had the fight winning strategy down pat with his kicks and then just gave up using them.

Good luck all.

Vera was fighting with a broken hand, plus not to mention he hadn't fought in over a year because of his ignorant old management.

I would disagree with advantages though. It's not easy fighting someone 6'8. Sylvia sure tried his best to bore us to a win. I think Vera gets back on track and wins, not sure how yet. I think he could win striking, but I could see a unanimous decision on this one.

Weepaul that fight put a bad taste in my mouth to. Vera shoulds have been suspended for that display
Silvia got a raw deal from the fans on that one. Vera was simply pathetic in that match

Bucks that was all Vera and his tactics that made that fight boring. Im not a Silva fan butVera constantly pushing Tim to the cage and just leaning on him was brutal to watch.

Bucs, I know it must be hard fighting someone Sylvia's size but Brandon had all skills to win. He was kicking the shit out of Sylvia at the end of the first round and then stopped kicking after that round. I know his hand was broke but that should not affect his legs.

Brandon proved he could beat him with kicks. Brandon proved he could take the big man down. Brandon lost and Tim won this fight on heart and that really disappointed me as I thought Brandon was the real deal (he might still be but I will never trust him again).

I'm not all too worried about Vera. He would make for one helluva LHW, but he's smart and in what I think is the right division for him.

Vera vs Noguiera would be a sweet matchup.

I'd like to see Vera win swiftly vs Werdum, but I could see a decision.

That is another thing that bothers me about Vera. Its like he thinks he belongs at heavy weight. Makes you wonder how much he likes to train. He takes the old BJ Penn approach to training. I don't think he is interested in dropping weight to become a L heavyweight and you know he could if he wanted too.

He better not let this fight hit the ground or he will be in deep shit. Werdum is not Silva.

Vera won't be in deep shit if it goes to the ground.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Wrestling

Watch all of Vera's fights before Sylvia. The reason I jumped on his wagon is because he was so damn impressive in every aspect.

I really do cut the guy some slack. Can you imagine how hard and rusted you'd be after night fighting in almost a year.

Werdum beat an overrated Gonzaga because he KO'd Mirko Cro Cop. Werdum couldn't beat Arlovski who I don't think has as many tools as Vera.

Rich Franklin, Wanderelei Silva both could drop down weight classes. Does that mean they don't train hard?
