i am not a rich franklin fan.....not even close....don`t know why...i just think he`s not nearly as good as many think....

and i think matt hammill is pretty decent....good stand-up(better than one might think),and a great wrestler......

BUT.....-210 ?.....that line surprises me a bit...i think hammill can be discouraged....and i think he loses steam in hard fights...which this will be...

i just had to use franklin in a par or two and am actually contemplating laying the wood straight(contemplating,i said).....thats why i`m posting..

i`ve been laying in the weeds looking to play against franklin and i`ve been looking for opportunities to take hammill in the right situation....

but,i don`t think this is it...

maybe i`m off...as i said,i really don`t like franklin...but,doesn`t he just have too much all around "game" here?...

Not sure what Fitch has that can stop GSP. GSP has better hands, better wrestling, better kicks, better athlete. I love how the announcers always talk about Fitch being the wrestlin captain of Purdue. A college wrestler:shrug: and not an Olympic wrestler. The thing that sucks about these kind of matches is that you never know where the fighters head is or what type of injury's they have. If both fighters are healthy and mentally there, i don't see how Fitch can win. this kind of reminds me of the Shirk/Penn fight. Both good fighters but one is just better.

A lot of times it is strong will/work ethic/mentally strong individuals...... as in the case of Jon Fitch. Not a spectacular athlete by any means, but a mutherphucking tough dude to break.

GSP is incredible....no weakness, NONE. And GSP has had his bad loss......it ain't going to happen again. This fight is all GSP, all up to GSP, and will be won by GSP.

Raw i know he is tough that is why i said what i did about comparing him and GSP to Shirk and Penn. I just think one is a bit better. The way GSP handled Koshcheck wrestling ability i see nothing to fear with Fitch and his wrestling ability. GSP is a whole different animal Fitch will be taking on. Also the granite chin? I have some doubts about that. He got rocked his last fight and i almost thought he was gonna lose. Cote and Margarito have granite chins. Not sure Fitch does. Then again im not so sure GSP has punching power.

I don't think Fitch will win but again we're talking about gamlbing and odds. Because of that I think he's close to being the play here.

Of all the wrestlers that GSP has faced, Fitch has the best standup. That could be the big difference. Both Hughes and Kos are weak standing and where so scared of GSP standing they couldn't defend the takedown. Kos didn't lose to GSP very badly, really it was a fairly close fight until the last minute of the 3rd. I think Fitch is a far better fighter overall than Kos and I think he can make this close.

Again, I think GSP will win but I'm not sure I want to laythewood to bet on him. And I've laid some serious wood on some of his fights. This will be his toughest test to date.

I'm comparing the situations not the fighters. Its kinda the same situation as far as the separation of the talent level in my opinion. Now I agree with you on your points with Sherks stupidity. He is not in BJ league and its that simple. I know we all thought Sherks strategy was awful and it was but realistically he wasn't gonna do anything to BJ on the ground either. He tried to get him down once or twice and it was a waste of time. Just like Fitch won't with GSP
