I like captain america inside. Couture is one of the smartest fighters around and he is doing this for along time. If Lesnar can not take Randy down easy he is gonna get hurt. Lesnar is not used to getting hit or kicked in the head.

And even on the ground Lesnar is far from unbeatable. Randy should exactly know what Lesnars weakest points are because he went through the same process over 10 years ago.

Thats my feeling against the experts, who i normally follow but in this case i stick with Randy.

My feelings to the tee. Randy is the best game planner in the business and has guys as big as Brock training with him. This isn't heath Lesnar is fighting. Randy won't just lay there and get pounded. That is if Lesnar can even get Randy down.

good to hear you guys' thoughts.......... here are some more of my own..

I agree Randy will try to finish quickly.. i have the feeling his goal is to clinch and make a transition to Lesnar's back somehow.... but then again, he had Sylvia's back for about three minutes and failed to finish him. I also agree that Couture is a master game-planner..... that is something that nobody can dispute. Major experience (14 title fights, i think?) versus none.

On the other hand, i couldnt disagree more that Lesnar is in big trouble against Randy in the striking game. You're right, Lesnar's chin hasnt been tested, but who the hell would wanna get in the pocket against a 265 pound behemoth..? Randy has made it clear that he plans on circling and avoiding Brock's hands at all costs........ anyone that saw Brock hit Heath Herring and send him rolling across the ring knows he has explosive power.

Randy definitely not known for power, but he does use punches/kicks to set up takedowns as well as anyone. Also, Randy throws very few kicks, and none to the head, so not worried about that... hell, no one could reach Brock's head :142smilie And looking back on Randy's career, he has struggled against bigger heavyweight like Ricco and Barnett.. yea, he beat up Sylvia, but he's not half the fighter Brock is even after just a year and half of training.

this isnt an attack on you, tony... just some counter-thoughts behind my play on Lesnar :) It really is a dangerous bet for me (since we've only seen Lesnar fight a few times), but i cant help myself.. I feel confident in Lesnar.

If odds were as they stand right now when i placed my bet i may have thought differently. :director: Certainly cant contest anyone for betting Couture as an underdog..

Hopefully nobody gets fuckin' injured this time :mj07:

Raw i don't think Randy's game plan is to try and win this quick. I think he is gonna try to get this thing into round four and hope Brock finally gasses. I think Randy is gonna impress people with his wrestling ability. Then again this could be the night he gets old.

By the way anyone know anything about this guy Jeremy Stevens is fighting?
as of now i like

randy can win by trying to stick and move and give angles to lesnar...much as he did vs immobile sylvia(who if he weren`t 6`7",couldn`t beat ken shamrock)......

but if this thing goes to the ground,i see no way that randy doesn`t get thrown around like a ragdoll...very much like he did with tito...

randy can win this standing..but his wrestling should be useless,imo...

i grabbed lesnar early at basically even odds....but i was very unhappy with his comments indicating "i have nothing to lose"....

thats always been a red flag for me....indicating a defeatist attitude and lack of confidence...

I dont think Randy will have the choice to wait around for too long... these two will engage from the get-go and he will NOT control a 265 pound National Champion wrestler like he did Sylvia or Gonzaga..

Dos Anjos a dangerous submission guy w/ decent striking i hear, but Stevens has apparently worked to improve takedown defense since he got smothered by Spencer Fisher. Man, Stevens wrestling was B-A-D against Fisher.

See, i think Randy's only chance is on the ground.. I think he wants to bait Lesnar into a submission.. If Couture gets hit my those XXXXL gloves more than once or twice, it's

Anyone know where the Dana White ass kisser is? :SIB

I miss kick, too... kick, please come back. :sadwave:

No problem at all. Maybe Lesnar is all that explosive and dangerous with his hands but in his 3 fights he didnt get hit once properly.
At least thats an interesting fight and i believe MMA is about putting it all together and you cant learn that in one and a half year.
But this is a total amateur/ fan point of view.
I am not betting huge money on Randy anyways.

It might be the biggest indeed.
265 lbs vs 220 lbs for a total of 485 lbs of beef in the octagon.THAT IS BIG!

of course i was referring to a guy with a 1-1 record vs a 45 year old man....

if that`s the best the ufc `s got, maybe they should include them in this bogus bailout....

what about that really fat brown-skinned guy who fought the skinny white guy, back at like ufc 1? the white got ended up knocking him out. it must have been like 350lbs vs 200lbs.

miss Kick. He is fun to hang with this time of the week. :(

Yeah. You can usually count on Kick to ban someone for a few minutes or make a foolish lie about Kimbo not being very good.

Did someone give him a ban that I am unaware of??:mj07:

Kick--- If you are out there, I revoke any ban you may have. Come on back.

THINGS KICKSERV COULD BE DOING:
1. He decided to pick up the racket and get back in the game.
2. He has become the new Toronto Argo CFL coach preventing him from gambling.
3. He is making love to GSP.
