btw...it was a smallish wager i placed on gamburyan....i appear to be the only swinging dick in the civilized world to give this armenian chucklehead any shot at all of beating tavares...

The line has remained fairly tight, so you're not the only one... I see this match going either way. I've read before that many felt Manny beat Sean Sherk when they fought.
Based on their most recent fights neither guy has a strong chin, but then again neither has very good standup, so I dont think this will end in a KO. I give Tavares the edge in submissions, but Manny a major edge in strength.. he's sort of like a bulldozer. I give Tavares the edge in submissions b/c he is really good at taking the back and Manny has more of a judo style, and those guys seem vulnerable to getting their back taken (like when Roman Mitichyan got owned by George Sotiropoulis). That said, Manny has some killer leglocks of his own.
Tavares has an edge in standup, but I think Manny will try and take it right to the ground as he always does, especially coming off a KO loss.
I give Tavares the edge skill-wise, but I think it will be a very entertaining match.... both guys need a win....... could go either way.
