Spencer Fisher (-200)

2 Units to win 1.

Not much of a write-up on this one... i just think Fisher will beat the pee out of Uno.

Fisher should be able to keep it standing and i see a KO win for him.

+2.52 Units since 6/21/08 is my record.

Peace.

agreed 100%

I'm not a big fan of UNO.I'm also not sure if Fisher can finish UNO or not, which makes it hard knowing a good chance this goes to decision.

PRO's weigh in on their opinions...

http://sherdog.com/news/articles/pros-picks-franklin-vs-silva-17913

Usually the pro's are idiots and typically pick their favorite fighters or who they like more. It makes me feel better knowing it's almost a toss up and it's divided.

20-WANDY
14-RICH
5-GUTLESS

Some interesting points from some pro's that I thought stuck out...........

Scott Bieri: Wanderlei is on the bubble. Franklin is 0-3 versus Brazilians. Wanderlei Silva by murder, no axe necessary.

Vitor Ribeiro: I think Wanderlei wins. I really enjoyed the statements in which he said that he?s doing calligraphy. I think that, with that sharp hand, there?s no chance for anyone -- Wanderlei by knockout in the second round.

Tom Gavrilos: Lately, people are questioning what Wanderlei has left and even his chin. I say never pick against ?The Axe Murderer.? Good matchup -- Silva by TKO.

Cristiano Marcello: I think this fight can take some different paths. Franklin could respect Wanderlei too much, to the point that it becomes an easy fight, or he could not show so much respect. Then Wanderlei would have a tougher way to win. I know something for sure. The fight will not go to a judges? decision.

Stav Economou: It doesn?t matter what Wanderlei has left in the tank; he will always be a serious threat to any and every fighter he faces. I like Rich Franklin, but I see Wanderlei TKO-ing him late in the first round or at some point in the second.

Bill Mesi: Silva has a huge fault; he always puts his right hand in his jockstrap when he throws his jab out. This will be met with a vicious straight left by the southpaw Franklin. Franklin [by] TKO in the first -- not early, like when Jackson lit him up, but early enough.

Pete Sell: Franklin by KO in the second. I heard he was down training with Anderson. Wanderlei used to be teammates with him, so that isn?t good news for Wanderlei.
(I love that Rich is training with Anderson because I think he's going to come into the fight OVER prepared for the little things and not be totally focused on the true gameplan he'll need to win. Also, Anderson and Wandy haven't been teamates for awhile now)

I compare it to like scouting a football or basketball team, or whatever sport. You scout certain plays and when you think that play or design is coming, then boom the other guy/player makes an adjustment or tweak to what you were expecting.

I thought I had read that Rich was training with Anderson. All I can say is wow! What kind of respect is that from Rich that a dude beats him down twice but it doesn't get in the way of him wanting to be better as a fighter.

I've been saying it for a long time and I'm happy it's hapened. Rich needed a better camp then the one he was in. There is no way he had great training partners at his camp in Cinci.

2009 Record 14-6 +29.01 units

Franklin -145 1unit

Parlay
Fisher -200
Cain -185 1 unit to win 1.31 units

I think Fisher is the best be on the board but I don't like him enough for -200. I'm a little scared parlaying him with Cain because I think this is a big step up in comp for Cain but he should be able to take the big man down at will. If Kongo can win then it could make for some exciting fights in the HW division. The division is in big time need of a great striker. I'm a little worried it's going to get boring because of all the wrestlers that could dominate. Kongo should have the strenght and length to have a great sprawl, now if he wants to or not is what we have to wonder about. If I was him I would punish Cain's front leg from the get go. I know he would have to worry about the take down because of it but hey, he's going to worry about that anyway. Get two or three leg rocking kicks in(and I mean kick them as hard as he can) and I'll bet it makes Cain back away a little. HOOOOOTTTTERSSSS here I come for wings, afternoon buzzzz and hopefully great fights.

FYI, I wouldn't mind seeing Wandy win. First off, he's one of my favorite fighters but mainly the fight with he and Anderson could have some great story lines.

Sponge, I won't be saying I told you so because I don't think Shogun has a high % chance of beating Machida. At +300 I'll take him. If Machida was 200 or less, I would probably take him.

I know Lay. You are able to budge. Not sure about these other two.:toast:

coach k...you are now included in my will....

thank you sir...

LOL, np. Missed it live but found that video shortly after. You can make checks out to cash.

Wandy has been looking like the energizer bunny. He shook hands with everyone on stage then jumped on the scale then shook some more hands.

Franklin now down to -140 at my book, the more I think about it the bigger I want to bet Franklin. Also Dennis the Menace looked intense and should get some consideration as a good underdog play for this card. Are there any books that list all the fights, mine only has the like top 3 or five on the card?

One thing I was impressed with for Silva is he has zero fat on his body, his legs were real defined. Should be a good one.

I actually got tickets and will be in Cologne tonight watching it live.

This will be my action picks, hopefully fueling this great evening and the excitement i already got.

Franklin -146 2 units - Somewhat banking on the tradition that (older) legends struggle later in their career facing a (still) real contender. Think they are milking Silva's name here and try to put Franklin back on track.

Kongo +166 1 unit - Prove that your worthy Velazquez, this is one hefty stepping stone. Kongo 6'4... There might even be some French fans around.

Hardy +176 0.5 unit - hope Davis' European Tour of Duty ends here. He got his big one in Ireland last time, it's time for a lackluster performance. He won't get the Irish cheering here, because he's unknown... actually a lot of those guys are. We'll see.

Saunders +191 - Saunders seems ready for a slugfest. See it more coinflippish, the odds are not. I just hope it falls my way.

GL guys!

Line on me being (semi)drunk at main event bell: -400
