Like anyone will see this in the Vegas forum. This was as great a read as I have seen on this site. Jack, get Harley's contact info and maybe he can meet us for a Harley table one night. I am trying to learn Craps.

wineguy, I "learned" craps 2 years ago with Whathisnuts, Woodson, Jack, and Joker. I learned how to throw for 45 min at the Rio and made a little cash for everyone too!:0074 :0074

Hang with us on Superbowl weekend, you'll pick it right up.

This thread goes from talking about craps to talking crap like most do here.

Appreciate the info. I am an avid craps player. Only game in town for me.

Never seen the mega roll as some say and I have been playing for over 25 years. I have had and seen some small mega's but never seen the chip eraser one.

I have never had one of the comp cards either. I will not get one from any of the casinos. Just my way of doing business.

I did have my own run out at O'Shea's (Yea I know) one year. I pocketed nearly 4,000 grand in less than an hour. I am a small time player also. Right before my last roll of the night I laid 25 on all the hards. Roll comes 4x4. I pressed everything. Next roll comes 2x2. They shut the table down for a few to count out chips. Next roll craps. I think I had over 500+ still on the table.

I colored out. I tipped the dealers 200 and head to the cash window. If only those nights could happen alot more often.

I tend to find tables with the old ladies rollin the bones. For some reason they seem to have the magic touch more often than not. Scouting the tables is a key tactic for sure.

Keep the info coming. Nice read.

Longest roll I've been at a table for is 45 to 50 minutes. It was down in New Orleans, the Harrahs.

The night before this Russian guy was throwing, he just had one of those really nice motions to his thrown. Dead soft, back wall and down. So the previous night he rolled maybe 25-30 mins on 2 occasions.

I was leaving early the next morning, had my bags with me for a few last hands of BJ. I walked past the craps and he was there. I dropped my shit like a hot biscuit and played. He rolled for 45 mins or so, maybe more. Just absolutely hitting everything, it really was fun. I barely made my flight.

Craps...it's feast or famine. You can make $$ quickly but you can also burn it quickly. I've found the key is to really push things when the table is heating up. I usually tread lightly, play pass with odds and 6/8. If the shooter has a nice touch and is hitting all around the 7s I then move to 5/9 and 4/10 and if they are rolling everything other than the point, and sevening out, I will press pretty hard. That's the only way to really win, you've got to press when the table is warming up. But, somethings they 7 out once you load up :sadwave: That's why it's called gambling.

Great comments guys !!! .... I learn a little from everyone -- including the following:

Harley...do you associate with the Golden Touch guys? Dominator, Scobelete, Patterson any of those guys?

For a fun read, see Frank Scoblete's and my post of the same event at a Bellagio table one eve (for those that don't know me, I am the "young man in the proverbial baseball cap") :

http://dicecraps.blogspot.com/

.... that being said, I do believe that GTC (Golden Touch Craps) students do have the best dice tossers as a whole when compared to the other Craps' schools

Harley..before Scoblete got involved, Jerry Patterson put on seminars with a guy who was a great roller..30ish, I believe was an engineer or a computer guy. Do you remember his name?

Also to see you reference "heavy" sure brings back some old memories.

I took a Patterson seminar way back when before GTC even existed. Even took a lesson with that older guy at his house where he had his own table set up in his garage..can't remember his name either.

rrc ..... are you speaking of SharpShooter or Walt Diem ? .... I have taken several classes from Jerry Patterson's group, as well as from Dice Coach and Heavy. But never could justify paying for the GTC class which is twice the price of the rest.

What's with the odds in Vegas? Have they gone back to the world standard?
I was in the Flamingo back in March. I put 5 bucks on the world and I threw a 3. They paid me $10. I thought maybe it was a mistake but I did not say anything. Next throw I throw a yo. They pay me $20. This timeI say "Shouldn't that be $22.
The stickman say "No, you were payed the correct amount."
I said No, I know it should be $22.
The Pittboss comes over and says "The Payoff was correct."
Starting to get pissed I said I have played all over the world and that should be $22.
Pitboss says "We are only Vegas, I guess we don't know."
I had not noticed that they changed all the felts to read "FOR one instead of TO one.
After the Pitt Prick left the stickman leans over and says that I am right but he can't say anything.
A little while later a guy hits a hardway and instead of getting $9 he got $8. He complains and gets the same line of BS.
He then asks if he can Hop the Sevens and the stickman says "You can. But you won't like the payout." LOL!
I noticed the smaller places like Casino Royal still paid odds like the rest of the world.

A) If you play at HET properties, you might as well just hand them your money as they yawn in your face, and walk away.

B) If you play on The Strip, you are getting charged the convenience fee of playing there.

Sure.....it might not be as glitzy as playing on the world famous Strip, but the local joints at least give you a decent shake.

The door was opened when people started accepting 6/5 payouts on blackjacks 10 years ago.

Harley...it was Sharpshooter.

as I remember the Patterson seminars were pretty reasonably priced.

Is Jerry Patterson still around?

I played craps this weekend. I figured I'd get a little taste before next month rolled around.

One guy had a roll where I had $5 on the hard 6, and it hit. I parlayed the $50, and he hit it again. I took $400, and left $100 up. He nailed it one more time a few rolls later, and I put another $700 in the rack. He never hit the $300 shot, but that would have been sweet.

I left the table, but came back when I could shoot from the 1st spot left of the stick.

I bet the hard 6/8, and set the 'V' with the 5/1 facing me. I hit it right on the first toss, parlayed it, and came right back with it on toss two.

I never hit the $1000 shot, but still had a so-so roll. Colored up about $800 on a 5 minute roll.
