I can only hope odds on Torres r at least decent...

What else do u know about Brown ?? I cant find any of his past fights and not even an official record ?? I doubt i'll make a play, but wtf..?? WEC doesnt even have any info on the guy....

If I remember correctly, I believe Brown was beaten by Genki Sudo a few years ago in the UFC. Back then, he was being touted as a great wrestler. Genki owned him rather easily but I am sure he has improved since then.

Well.... i think Urijah is going to be solely concerned w/ the left hand of Pulver... and Urijah doesnt get hit in the face very much.

Pulver has said he wants to use his wrestling, but i dont buy it... Why would u put Urijah in his comfort zone...? A place where Jens is at a clear disadvantage... I know Faber is well-rounded, but he doesnt do much damage standing, and Jens rarely shoots on anyone... why start now? Watching Pulver fight Sakurai just makes me wonder how big his brain is...

Seems like Urijah would be shaking in his boots if he had to stand w/ Pulver... against someone w/ devastating power in ur hometown, i mean c'mon.. Think Faber tries to keep it on the ground as much as possible.

Both will be in tip-top shape... Urijah doesnt tire, and Jens is working w/ a triathlon coach to focus on stamina...

Hard to say how/when/if it will end... If i had to pick an outcome it would be Faber by sub, but if he at any point tries to exchange w/ Pulver there will be a huge clap of thunder as Urijah hits the mat. I think it goes into at least the third round.

I like the line on Pulver... im making a half unit play. If odds continue to improve ill double that.

Also think there is value in Jens. He hits hard with that left and has good take down defence.

Here is my problem with Faber and originally i liked him to win. I just saw a special about him and Jens and he openly said he won't watch films of Pulver. What kind of idiot wouldn't watch films of their opponent? I think i heard Koscheck say the same thing and then GSP destroyed him. Sometimes these guys ego's get in the way of some clear thinking. What would it hurt to watch some film?

Yea, i really dont understand things like this... how could watching film of your future opponent hurt in any way ??? Are u that invincible that u dont need to take all the help u can get...? I really think some of these guys r so hard-headed and have such big egos that they r afraid to show weakness in any way....

I think Pulver has a good shot at keeping it standing and taking Faber out with punches. I'll probably bet on him, but it doesn't appear there is much urgency, the line has remained good for a couple of days.

I thought Brown would have better odds. I think I'll stay away from that one.

After hearing such good things about Alexandre Nogueira in this thread i went and dug up some of his past fights... I was impressed... Then i went on to research his opponent for this WEC event, Jose Aldo, and this kid looks DANGEROUS !!! Aldo has several clips on youtube, and hes got serious thai boxing skill :scared .... i think hes a bjj world champ as well, but most of the clips r of him striking.

If odds r similar in my book im going to make a play on Aldo. He looks a lot like a smaller version of Anderson Silva... he walks down his opponents and has accurate counters.. also solid takedown defense it seems.. He should be able to pick Nogueira apart on the feet, but i should add that his opponents didnt look very quality.... still think odds on Aldo would be different if he werent a relative unknown.

I am going to add a prop bet on the Pulver fight, and also adding a parlay, so looks like this now:

Jens Pulver beat Urijah Faber $3.05 *1.5 Joe Rogans

Jens Pulver beat Urijah Faber $3.20 *1.5 Joe Rogans

Jens Pulver beat Urijah Faber $3.60 *1.5 Joe Rogans

Faber/Pulver goes distance $6.00 *half Joe Rogan

Parlay
-----------------
Rob McCullough
Chase Beebe

odds = $1.80 *3.5 Joe Rogans

And yes I know....there are only 3 people in North America that are on Pulver, but hey, guess I am on crack:mj07:

Odds on Pulver have made me laugh....I mean nobody is on Pulver, odds just keep going up up up:scared I can tell you one thing, the sportsbooks want Pulver to win, I think everybody and their dog bet on Faber:142smilie

Why nobody (except 3 people) thinks Pulver has a chance is beyond me:shrug:

This may sound funny, but do i think Urijah will win? YES. Am i happy w/ my small play on Pulver at +275? YES ...

Fights like this r just difficult to foresee.... You've got Urijah; an extremely elusive target who has top-notch ground skill and submission defense (and he's fighting in his hometown) VERSUS Jens Pulver; a strong wrestler who has a lethal left hand.... and neither have a history of poor conditioning...

In my mind Pulver has to bring it like he used to in order to have a chance.. that will to win like he did earlier in his career.. Jens should do what he can to keep it standing and rough Faber up w/ the dirty boxing from the clinch... Faber is just too quick for Jens to concentrate on landing that one clean left hand and Faber has never been submitted so its not realistic for me to think Pulver will be the first to submit him...BUT, Pulver did look hell-bent against Swanson even though we didnt get to see much of him that fight. :SIB

What surprises me is that many of Urijah's opponents choose to go for the takedown when the weakest aspect of Faber's game is the striking. To my knowledge he hasnt shown real power from his feet and his loss was b/c of a punch.. and Charlie Valencia rocked him in their fight... if it gets to the ground Pulver just HAS to go into survival mode and do what he can to not give up his back or stick his neck out there for a guillotine... I heard Faber say on the preview that Pulver "should be fearful of the ground game.." Well he should.... b/c DUH, thats Urijah's biggest weapon and Pulver's biggest weakness... for now i can only hope Pulver is smart enough to know that.
