just curious, how many years (if any) shop keeper gets if he shoots 3-5 first looters
before rest of them understands to stay outside ?

i think here in Finland it would be 8-14 years, and if first timer 50% discount.

yep, you can murder person in cold blood and sit less than ten years...

Well I wouldn't say it would be 'in cold blood'. I understand the impulse of business owners protecting themselves, but I sure hope nobody is murdered over this.
Luckily I expect better judgement out of shopkeepers than the police. So we should be ok.

So protecting your Finnish property is murder in cold blood?
What if you are fearful of being harmed or killed by looters? Can you not retaliate?
Glad the Finnish did not act that way when the Nazis or Soviets came to town 75 years ago.
Simo Hayha " The White Death" sniper killed 442 Soviets .

sorry wasn't very specific there, it wouldn't probably be a murder but "man slaughter" or "kill with out intention to kill". It's pretty hard to get a murder sentence here, that is a "life time" aka 15 to 20 years. Man slaughter would be in max 8-9 range without discount (first timer 30 - 50% ).

using excessive or unnecessary force makes you criminal very quickly.

with killing someone in cold blood and walking out less in ten years i ment lengths of our sentences:

wikipedia helps here:
"Lengths of prison sentences have increased in recent years, though Finnish prison terms are exceptionally short in the international context. Drug trafficking and manslaughter result in the longest prison sentences, of 8?9 years, after premeditated murder. Although life sentences are given for murder, probation is given after 10 years at the earliest, excluding the possibility of presidential amnesty. Therefore, effective life sentences are enforced in only cases of involuntary commitment of murderers."

and about russians, they got what they deserved but germany was only country to really
help us 1939-44 against russians, short Lapland war was against nazis to get them out
of the country asap. that was demanded in peace agreement with russians.
but honestly, with german help Helsinki was one of three capitals in Europe that weren't
occupied by the enemy, other two were London and Moscow.

Because the drug war made cops lazy and less competent? How do you reward cops? Two ways: promotion and cash. That's what rewards a cop. If you want to pay overtime pay for having police fill the jails with loitering arrests or simple drug possession or failure to yield, if you want to spend your municipal treasure rewarding that, well the cop who?s going to court 7 or 8 days a month ? and court is always overtime pay ? you're going to damn near double your salary every month. On the other hand, the guy who actually goes to his post and investigates who's burglarizing the homes, at the end of the month maybe he?s made one arrest. It may be the right arrest and one that makes his post safer, but he's going to court one day and he's out in two hours. So you fail to reward the cop who actually does police work. But worse, it?s time to make new sergeants or lieutenants, and so you look at the computer and say: Who's doing the most work? And they say, man, this guy had 80 arrests last month, and this other guy?s only got one. Who do you think gets made sergeant? And then who trains the next generation of cops in how not to do police work? I?ve just described for you the culture of the Baltimore police department amid the deluge of the drug war, where actual investigation goes unrewarded and where rounding up bodies for street dealing, drug possession, loitering such ? the easiest and most self-evident arrests a cop can make ? is nonetheless the path to enlightenment and promotion and some additional pay. That?s what the drug war built, and that?s what Martin O?Malley affirmed when he sent so much of inner city Baltimore into the police wagons on a regular basis.

BALTIMORE, Md. (WJLA) -- An investigation into the death of Baltimore resident Freddie Gray has found no evidence that his fatal injuries were caused during the videotaped arrest and interaction with police officers, according to multiple law enforcement sources.

The sources spoke to ABC7 News after being briefed on the findings of a police report turned over to prosecutors on Thursday.
Sources said the medical examiner found Gray's catastrophic injury was caused when he slammed into the back of the police transport van, apparently breaking his neck; a head injury he sustained matches a bolt in the back of the van.

Details surrounding exactly what caused Gray to slam into the back of the van was unclear. The officer driving the van has yet to give a statement to authorities. :scared

It?s also unclear whether Gray?s head injury was voluntary or was a result of some other action.
The medical examiner's office declined to comment on this open investigation and said it does not release preliminary findings.
.....................................................................................

how does the person driving the van not be questioned after this long a time.

instead they come out with he killed himself, that pretty clear, we have a witness.

wtf in this crazy world

KOD,
The prisoner in question could not physically see Gray in the paddy wagon due to a partition. There is no way that he could have testified with any credibility that he (Gray) was slamming his head into the wall. There have also been reports that Baltimore police have been accused of these "nickel rides" before. It would be just as easy to believe that the aforementioned prisoner was told by his captors to say what he did in an effort to cover their crime. This seems far more feasible to me.

Hope this helps,
FDC
