So, I thought I'd use this thread to post about my time on the road. I have to say that it started off pretty great the other morning while in Business Class, I sit down to a guy flying to Tampa. I thought he was Jim Furyk. I'm half asleep and everyone is coming by asking if he's heading to Old Meadows down in central Florida. Time passes I thank him a few times for assisting in giving the stewardness my garbage and what not.

"Thanks Jim." Really enjoyed watching you all these years Jim.

Finally as we're leaving I say have a good trip this weekend Jim to which he replies. I'm sorry but my name is John, John Smoltz... kurby

And I'm off on another incredible journey. If you are in the B'ham area and want to grab a drink tonight or tomorrow let me know.

I'll be in New Orleans next week and the surrounding area.

Anniston, AL - Heading along I-20 West

Well Anniston, I hardly new you. I listened to their talk radio and the discussion centered on a public announcement that kissing your dog could inevitably lead to round worms and salmonella...

So how many people in Anniston have sat around licking their dog and doing God only knows to the point that the health department thought it wise to buy airtime and start a campaign to educate people about this...?

Criminy... :sadwave: Only in Alabama?

Bryan: Do you have an Ipod? I have really gotten into some podcasts over the last 6 months or so and they are great for killing time. Lots of good ones by comedians that feature other comedians. Just a thought.

That is a great idea! I'll make certain to do that before I leave for New Orleans next week.

Here are some I recommend:

Bill Burr's Monday Morning Podcast - He hasn't had a new one in a couple weeks, but his old ones are worth downloading.

MMA Sunday School - These two dudes are great to listen to. One is working as a writer for Jimmy Kimmel and the other is a school teacher. They talk very little about MMA, despite the title.

The Adam Corolla Podcast - I have been avoiding this one, but it has quickly become one of my favorites.

Comedy and Everything Else - Comedian Jimmy Dore talks stand up comedy and mixes in politics...he's very left wing, so if you are leaning right, it won't be enjoyable.

The Nerdist - New podcast that I just picked up. Pretty good so far.

WTF - Marc Maron hosts this rambling podcast that can be entertaining.

The Thundering Herd - A 20 minute version of Colin Cowherd's show.

The BS Report - Bill Simmons is entertaining but he talks way too much basketball for me. I look for the ones that focus on pop culture and discard the rest.

Pro MMA Radio - This is the only all MMA talk show I can handle. The show Kickserve calls into is good, but I can't get it to download through ITunes.

I have subscribed and unsubscribed to quite a few. The ones I mentioned are the ones I listen to every week. I never listen to the radio any more, just podcasts. Enjoy, brother.

Airtran : "Mr. Woods! Greetings, just calling to tell you we're cancelling your flight. Oh a reason? We don't need one but there is going to be a chance of a "slight dusting" of snow in ATL. As an airline company, we want to take 100% advantage of our loyal customers, that's you Mr. Woods, by having you packed into full capacity flights at the crack of dawn. I'm sure there will be further delays to this flight so make certain you wake up at 4:30AM to sit in our terminal until noon. Sweet dreams and thanks for flying AirTran.

In Biloxi today. For someone who worked from home for a year and a half I must admit that I miss my wife... :mj07: and it's only been three days! :scared

Going to hit the tables after I finish my daily travel report. Still have a hundie on my comp card from one of my bachelor parties so going to enjoy a nice dinner on the house as well...

Anyone in Biloxi by chance? :0corn

Flew out of Baltimore on Airtran Feb 14th. Sat next to a girl before boarding and she said I hope we take off today. I asked why and she said her flight was canceled the day before because of staffing.

Every one boarded the plane and the pilot came over the loud speaker and said we were all set to go except for one minor detail. No co-pilot!

Took an hour to find one but an extra hour on a plane sucks. Hope I never have to fly them again.
