It is easy to get into the top leagues in Europe. Makes Saturdays and Sundays even better during football season as you get soccer starting at 7:00 a.m. which then leads into games on the East Coast. I love it especially since I am up early anyway. If you want to watch more than just every 4 years, I would start with the Premier League this year. So many of the players you are watching now are in the league and it is the best league top to bottom in the world. It also receives the best overall coverage in the US on cable. If you are enjoying yourself now you will like following the leagues in Europe. All the top teams are better than the teams you are watching now as they are basically all-star teams from around the world. Something to consider, I think you would like it once you got into it.
Personally, I am not a fan at all of the MLS nor do I watch it. Just not the same quality you get in Europe.
The more I get into the England game, the more I like Sweden to advance. England is scoring off of set pieces and not out of play as they really do not have a true #10 to create. Sweden is one of the best teams in the world at defending set pieces. They have no real stars, but they all are disciplined and do their jobs. They were in the same qualifying group as France and the Dutch. They advanced ahead of the Dutch, then beat Italy and then won a group with Germany in it. That is rather impressive, but it gets lost in all the England hype. England has beaten Tunisia, Panama and a weakened Columbia team in penalties. I am not that impressed. I have said from the beginning that I was not as high on this England team as most so I am sticking to my guns (just like I did not think Brazil would get to the semis). I will be on Sweden to advance for sure and will decide in the morning whether I am taking the +.5 or ML or both, maybe a FH draw or a Draw/Sweden HT/FT. Will keep bets small but this is where I am leaning.
Plus, I can not find anyone giving Sweden much of a chance in this one.
