Using the Un .5 +130 for most of my FH bet now as I think the draw will be 0-0, not 1-1 again, so getting much better payout on the under.

Been in and out today...played some golf.

After the first match, I decided to put more on Portugal and I also took the Over (2) so at least it wasn't horrible.

Really entertaining game between France and Argentina and would have been a big day for me if Argentina just scored one more goal.

Games were good. Neither really went like I thought which is why I did not risk much for the day.

Looking forward to tomorrow. On Spain big -160 and a little on the -1.

On Croatia -120. Will add if Spain wins.

Spain is simply not the team I thought they were. I hope they lose now as they do not deserve to move on. Just a horrible game, no quality, no pace, no chances, etc. Spain's attack was simply pitiful. They looked like a team without a game plan, without a coach and not motivated at all. No explanation for how they played today. Russia is not a good team but at least that had a plan and played inspired futbol. Sorry, I was simply wrong about this team and it cost me a lot of money. Never thought Spain and Germany would be the teams that truly cost me.

Very disappointing but we move on. Sticking with Croatia as I simply think they are the better team.

Still pissed off about Spain yesterday. Can not get that pathetic performance out of my head.

I like Ov in Mexico/Brazil.

Was just about to lose faith in some good futbol and then we get a half like that. That was one hell of a half of futbol. Tons of pace, great spacing, passing, etc. Was the best play of the tournament. If teams like Spain and Germany could play with the spirit and tenacity we just saw from Japan, they would still be here. Hats off to the Japanese, they played their hearts out and should have gotten a result. Couple small mistakes make all the difference, but that was how the game should be played.

Couldn't agree more! No diving, no bullshit. Just gutsy play from both sides. So glad I was off today and got to enjoy that gem.

Hell yeah! I recorded the game and watched it after work.

I had Belgium Moneyline and Over 2 1/2 and thought I was doomed...but was happy for Japan...and that 2nd half was great. I do feel bad for Japan but like I've said, I picked Belgium to win the whole thing and getting a 2nd half like that really saved my account too haha

Taking Sweden Pick tomorrow and England -1/2

Have no idea what will happen in the Sweden/Swiss game. Draw seems to be a popular play. I really liked the way Sweden played against Mexico so I am going with Sweden to Advance. FH draw also looks good and continues to hit.

I simply do not trust this England team, so I am making a BTTS bet in this one. Not a bet I play that often since I usually do not like the odds. but I like it here given that we are getting + money. The stats back this play as both teams tend to score in the World Cup. Would also take the Over 2. I may also take Columbia to advance or even take a chance on a bigger + money play with them.

Don't like either game that much today from a betting perspective.

Won a few bucks on the Sweden game so I am taking the Ov 2 in the next one and taking a shot with the Ov .5 in the first half. It is pricey but not sure we see four 0-0 FHs in a row.

I don't know what game Aly Wagner is watching, but the game I am watching completely sucks. Geiger is completely out of his league, intimidated by the Columbians and letting this game become a typical south american shit show. Neither team has anyone that can create. Kane is trying to play like a number 10 versus a striker. Getting exactly what I expected from England, but Columbia is really struggling without Rodriguez. I was off on this one, we are not getting goals, but if anyone scores it will be England. Will take them small in 2H +130.

France/Uruguay - On the surface this has draw written all over it, especially if Cavani is not playing. There is not a lot I like from a gambling perspective for this one. FH draw of course looks good, but Un .5 +150 looks even better if you think it is a 0-0 draw. Draw +205 for the game will likely be my bet here. Uruguay certainly watched the Argentina game and knows how dangerous and fast France is up front, so I expect them to focus on not getting beat by their speed which will create a more defensive posture. If France plays like they did against Argentina, they will win, but I think Uruguay will be much stronger in the back than Argentina was.

Brazil/Belgium - I believe the only way to beat Brazil is to get them on their heels. You have to press them and attack with pace as much as possible. Mexico did not do this. If you sit back and try to simply play counter they will eventually pick you apart. This is how most play them and why they are not giving up goals. Hopefully, Belgium realizes this and uses their talent to put pressure on Brazil's back line. They certainly have the talent to do this. I am going to assume they game plan this way, which should create some goals. Brazil has only given up like 3 goals in their last 15 matches which is why this total is so low despite Belgium being the highest scoring team in the tournament. I like the Ov 2.5 -110 in this game. My favorite play of the quarter final round.

Will hold off on Saturday thoughts for now. The result in the Brazil game will affect how I play the games on Saturday.

Good write-up. Man, I was on a little bit of a roll and all England had to do was defend for a couple more minutes. After giving up that late goal, I was really hoping Columbia would win. Oh well.

I hate betting on Draw but I'll prob do that in the France/Uruguay match. I also love the Over in Belgium/Brazil and will prob put a little bit on Belgium as well. I think its gonna be a very entertaining match!

Good luck to us!!

Going to take a shot with the exact score in the Belgium game. I am hopeful for and expecting a very good game here, so I am going to take a 2-2 exact score for 13-1 and 3-2 Belgium for 36-1 (you may be able to get even better odds than this at larger betting sites). I did not think Brazil would win to start the tournament and this is where I thought they would falter. Belgium should be very loose after their last game and I am hoping they come out strong and go on the attack right away. They can not ask for a better chance to prove they are one of the best teams in the world. Hopefully they step up and prove it today.

Obviously very small plays for fun.

Great result for Belgium and for me today. Didn't get the exact score but the over was really big for me and I had Brazil going out in this round.

I don't love anything tomorrow but I will take some risks since I have some money after today to play with. Will post later tonight, but I am trying to talk myself out of taking Sweden and Russia to advance. I just do not see both England and Croatia advancing. Still working on it.

Nice job! And oh so close to those exact scores...I wish you had gotten 2-2 and there were some definite chances that Brazil almost got that 2nd goal. But I also wanted Belgium to advance and they might not have if it goes to extra time and possibly penalty kicks.

I love this Belgium team and I know I keep saying it! The over was really big for me too! Just a really good day!

I hate taking a Draw but I know its part of soccer...its frustrating to lose when I didn't even pick a side lol...but yeah I get it and I had 2-1 odds on it too. As soon as France got one I felt like it was over...if Uruguay had scored first I would have held out hope.

Still, a good day and I really want Sweden to win tomorrow but haven't bet them yet. I'd also like to see the home Russians advance...maybe I need to go back and watch Rocky 4 for the 20th time lol

Hoping Belgium plays Sweden for the title...or Russia...but I know we've got a long way to go. Its been a really fun world cup. I've kept up with and watched the World Cup pretty much since 1994 when USA had Alexi Lalas and others. I didn't start watching Women's World Cup til 1999...not sure if I ever knew it was a thing until then...and watched a lot of it including Brandy Chastain ripping her shirt off!!

I just can't get into regular soccer and have tried w MLS...I'll watch a friendly here and there but for the most part I get all the futbol I can handle twice every 4 years and this year hasn't let me down!

It is easy to get into the top leagues in Europe. Makes Saturdays and Sundays even better during football season as you get soccer starting at 7:00 a.m. which then leads into games on the East Coast. I love it especially since I am up early anyway. If you want to watch more than just every 4 years, I would start with the Premier League this year. So many of the players you are watching now are in the league and it is the best league top to bottom in the world. It also receives the best overall coverage in the US on cable. If you are enjoying yourself now you will like following the leagues in Europe. All the top teams are better than the teams you are watching now as they are basically all-star teams from around the world. Something to consider, I think you would like it once you got into it.

Personally, I am not a fan at all of the MLS nor do I watch it. Just not the same quality you get in Europe.

The more I get into the England game, the more I like Sweden to advance. England is scoring off of set pieces and not out of play as they really do not have a true #10 to create. Sweden is one of the best teams in the world at defending set pieces. They have no real stars, but they all are disciplined and do their jobs. They were in the same qualifying group as France and the Dutch. They advanced ahead of the Dutch, then beat Italy and then won a group with Germany in it. That is rather impressive, but it gets lost in all the England hype. England has beaten Tunisia, Panama and a weakened Columbia team in penalties. I am not that impressed. I have said from the beginning that I was not as high on this England team as most so I am sticking to my guns (just like I did not think Brazil would get to the semis). I will be on Sweden to advance for sure and will decide in the morning whether I am taking the +.5 or ML or both, maybe a FH draw or a Draw/Sweden HT/FT. Will keep bets small but this is where I am leaning.

Plus, I can not find anyone giving Sweden much of a chance in this one.

I agree with everything you said, EPL on weekends prior to football is a great way to spend the morning. I do see a lot of people who were soccer fans in the US prior to the MLS existing have the same opinion as yours above and I wish people would give it another go.

Of course it's not going to be the quality of EPL or UCL and we won't get top players in their prime, not in our lifetime anyway, but they aren't bad games. Some teams are certainly terrible, but most games are competitive and, likely due to the poorer coaching, there is a bit more scoring which makes it fun for US fans. I've been to an MLS game and the crowd really gets into it, probably because it's the only option they have for soccer here in the US for the most part.

I've even been to a USL game and the quality of play was on a level just above the better high school's in our area, but still it's good to watch a competitive game.

Just took Sweden +1/2 and Sweden ML which is an awesome payout!

Took Croatia -1/2...would love to see Russia advance but just don't think its gonna happen.

Thanks for all the writeup...I will give it a chance. No time right now...about to go donate plasma and then come back and watch the matches...I'll be about an hour or so behind which is perfect for me lol
