Nice job Cman Could have used a few of your plays in my parlays with only one coming in results in a 1/3 unit loss ($17 and change ) on day. Will donate a $70 shot at em today.
My unofficial shits and grins plays today. Will use $ amounts as fractional units make me dizzy.
Going to do 3 $20 2man parlays @ 5dimes using Olazabal in all
with
Sutherland returns $60.67
Lowery returns $68.00
Mediate returns 81.20
and a $10 parlay on the 4 for $175

oly cock up ?!?

oly cock up ?!?

If you want a guaranteed bet try betting the 8 players left in Quarter 4 to reach the last 4 with Olympic - well one of them has to so why they add up to 92.3% is a bit odd! - somehow I think they might void them!!

Found these quotes relating to scores.

"It's tough any time you play well and get beat," said Duval, who played the best of the top three at 4-under for the day. "Kevin stepped up to the plate and made some great shots. I give him a lot of credit for that."

John Daly's debut was a quick one. He was 5-down at the turn and was defeated 5 and 4 by Rocco Mediate, who made seven birdies in 14 holes.

Cook was 6-under through 16 holes.

Steve Stricker, who won in Australia last year when 28 of the top 64 players skipped the event, fell victim to eight birdies by Chris DiMarco in a 3 and 2 loss.

Lawrie was involved in one of the highest quality matches of the round, but lost it three and two to Canadian left-hander Mike Weir.

"I was four under for the first 15 and he was six under," said the Aberdeen player. "I played well and I'm going home - that's match play.

Ian I thought that would be the bracket to exploit thats why I asked you match play experts for a few to ride in that bracket. Thought odds would be better assaulting one bracket even if it ment giving up two auto losers at odds they had quoted initially. Ventured out on my own on a few.

In the bottom quarter Toshimitsu Izawa could do well. His US Masters 4th and 4 wins from his last 8 outings last year looks pretty good. He has also won for me in previous years.

I was put off by not finding any form for him since week 48 last year and no course form - but did place a small outright win only at 100/1. Now regretting not placing a larger bet with the stake covered by a match-up against Fulke.... but there's a long way to go!

Round 2

Round 2

Rd 1 - 1-1 +0, with Howell and Sabbatini splitting.

Rd 2 matchups

Dimarco -140 Calcavecchia
Izawa +125 Furyk
Mediate +120 Toms
Flesch +100 Triplett
Weir +100 Mccarron

The +110 on Howell over Garcia is not enough, but I'll surely be rooting him on today.

Thursday

Thursday

It is apparent that "seedings" mean nothing in this tournament, and that current form is far more important. But today, you have some "lead dog" matches.

I am playing 1/2 a unit on every match - MOST on the "underdogs". This would have been quite profitable yesterday as the 1,2, & 3 seeds lost, along with quite a few other "upsets"

The FAVS I am playing are as follows:

FAXON over Scott
Furyk over Izawa
Garcia over Howell
Price over O'Malley

I am doubling the bet to 1 unit on Calcavechia and Cook.

Lets see what happens...IP

IcePicks, I too put a bit on Calc & Cook in a Trixie with McCarron.
Sweating on McCarron (3 up with 3 to play - still sweating after Duval yesterday) & Cook (A/S).

Terrible day, going 1-4 on matchups for -3.4 and watching Howell lose for the outrights. C'est la vie.

For the Day 15-1 for $$$$$$ :) :) :D

Don't know what may happen Friday, but I am going to watch the interviews and re-caps on ESPN and the Golf Channel...

I am going to look for "lead dog" type matches tomorrow. Everyone left in this field can now be assumed to be playing fairly well. It is the putting on the bumpy Poa Annua greens which will be the difference. I am lookning for someone with a "CLAW" grip to do well and they sort of beat the ball on the greens. If you have never putted on this type of grass, it is not much fun.

ANTGRAD - looks like you hit a nice parlay....congrats...:)

Good luck...IP

This has been edited to show Price defeating O'Malley under the favorites. Raises day to 15-1...sorry

What about this???

What about this???

Sportodds has "to win" bets listed now - Thursday night - for all 16 players left in the match play tournament.

Now here is where it gets interesting.

The bottom 10 players are all listed at odds of at least 13:1 for Mark Calcavechia through John Cook at 26:1.

The bottom 8 goes from 15:1 for Tom Lehman...

I feel it is just as likely, looking at the list of the players remaining, that someone at the higher odds will win this thing.

So why not place 1 unit on each of the bottom 8 ?? The worst case scenario, assiuming a bottom 8 will prevail, is to win back 15 units on 8 units bet. [plus juice]

4 non-USA Players remain in the field...the best known USA player is probably Faxon...the rest are journeymen on the PGA tour, although there is some Ryder Cuppers and major winners left...

My feeling is to go with the 2 "Fs" - Faxon and Furyk...and the 2 "Cs" - Cook and Calcavechia...

Azinger 14:1
McCarron 14:1
Lehman 15:1
Price 17:1
Fasth 19:1
Cook 21:1 - has dropped from 26 in about 15 minutes
Flesch 21:1
Sutherland 21:1
Goegel: 23:1

;)Edited Saturday AM:

Of these bottom 8 players, Zinger, McCarron, Lehman, and Sutherland still remain going into Saturday's AM round....Lehman or McCarron will be eliminated this morning as they play one another. Zinger plays Estes, and Sutherland plays Toms...Due to the best remaining odds, I have to pull for Sutherland:)

Ice Picks,

Nice going with 14-2

In regards to the outright markets for this event I think history shows that anything can happen in matchplay and any of these guys are capable of making the final.

Look at recent years:

1999 final Maggert & Magee
2000 final Clarke & Woods
2001 final Stricker & Fulke

I personally can't find anything that appears a standout but if I had to pick three at this stage I would be going with:

Faxon 10-1
Furyk 11-1
Flesch 20-1

:)

Potential stat of the week. IF Sergio makes it to finals.

The event will be televised from start to finish with 4 hours (240 minutes)scheduled.
Now we'll have 72 minutes of commercials (considering 9 minutes/half hour.)
Counting 2 strokes ave for putts in 72 holes that leaves 36 times Sergio will be regripping if event goes full 18. With conservative an ave of 30 secs of regrips(took 41 secs with driver on 18 yesterday)regripping will take 18 minutes of allotted 4 hours.

So of 240 minutes of viewing, commercials and regripping will account for 108 minutes.
