Ended the mini slide and got some back with the +153 winner.

I am not a fan of this aging Croatia team. Sure, they beat Scotland to get here, but Spain is much, much better than Scotland. Hoping their last game is more like we see if this game, but the overall conservative play in this round has me a little concerned, but this is a game I had circled as soon as it was decided.

Spain -161

Spain/France +162

I am laying the juice but I am not against the -1. I will also pair them with France. The Swiss have not beaten France in almost 30 years. Have yet to see France play well, but they should win this game. I expect Mbappe to give them problems and see him scoring. I like Spain better so I am using that as my larger straight play and using France in parlays.

Thats it for me. The way some of these teams are playing and are coached is just unreal to me. I do not want to hear what a great game this was or how great Croatia was, this was a disgraceful display by Spain. I truly hope they lose so Enrique will finally get fired. I have yet to see a team that wants to win this tournament. Just very disappointed in the quality of play. It is as bad as I have ever seen and I am old!!

Cannot make this shit up. Supposedly top level world class team gives up 2 in the less than 10 minutes. They will win in extra time just to stick it up our ass.

Well, just a crazy day. At least the French game was entertaining, but both Spain and France losing those leads is remarkable to me. Maybe there is more to these teams being tired than I thought, but you rarely see top level teams like this collapse like that.

I am just going to watch tomorrow as nothing would please me more than watching Germany beat England in Wembley. Germany tends to do well in these situations and always does well at Wembley, but given how the last few days have went, nothing would surprise me. I tend to think we will see the opposite of what we saw today as I expect two low scoring games tomorrow.

Brats, pretzels and wheat beer for breakfast tomorrow. GO GERMANY!!

I hate the fact that DeBruyne is not playing for Belgium. He makes that offense work and I think they are in real trouble without him and E. Hazard. If they were playing I would be on Belgium, but there is no way I can bet it without them. Deciding whether to play Italy + or Pk - to advance. Probably to advance given how the games have been going.

I put this parlay in:

England TT Ov 1.5/Denmark Ov 1.5/ Spain BTTS/Italy Ov 1.5 +577

England is the only TT, the other 2 Ov are for the game.

I will be on the Spain BTTS separately.

Will update tomorrow.

I played these this morning:

Italy to Advance -138

Spain/Switzerland BTTS Yes -109

Would not be surprised to see the Italy line drop a little, but not enough to keep me from betting it now. Little concerned that Italy is not ready for this big of a game, but I think Belgium is going to have a hard time scoring.

I think the Spain match is going to be a much more competitive than people think. Absolutely no value in playing Spain -150 given how they have been playing. I think the value is in the Swiss to advance line and I may use that in a long shot parlay.

Happy with the win, but another total BS call by an English ref. No way in hell that is a straight red card. Once again VAR is useless. UEFA should be ashamed of some of the calls in this tournament. This game was already bad.

DeBruyne starting

wow. remember this?

"Eden Hazard and Kevin De Bruyne will miss Belgium's quarter-final against Italy, according to manager Roberto Martinez.

The pair featured as Belgium overcame Portugal 1-0 on Sunday evening. But De Bruyne had to leave the pitch shortly after the half-time break, while Hazard was substituted off in the 84th minute.

Martinez has now confirmed they will not be available for Friday's quarter-final."

yeah, I started to get the feeling he was going to play after reading through many of the german web sites, but I just stuck with my gut and I used Italy + in some parlays. Italy was clearly the better team today and I think they will be in the final.

Very strong day for me today. I am not in love with tomorrows games and I have a few parlays, including the one posted in here, going that gives me plenty of action so I am not adding anything. If pressed, I would look at BTTS in the Denmark game or the Ov 2. I do not see any real value in the England game. The Ov 2 is steep at -171 so I would consider parlaying with the Ov 2 in the other game (I already have this in parlays which is why I am not playing them).

Had to put this in this morning:

Italy TT Ov 1 -133

I am confident they get at least one in this game so I do not see much risk in this bet. More to come on this one.

Long shot bet:

Sancho first player to score +615

He has barely played. Now he is coming to Man U and starting. I think he scores today.

Here are my thoughts on the semi-finals:

Italy to Advance -137/+148 - The eye test says Italy has been the best team in this tournament. I have had concerns all along that they would struggle when they got deeper in the tournament, but they just beat one of the top 5 teams in the world and now get another. It is hard to be impressed by Spain in this tournament even though they would have been my pick to win it before it got started. They are a very dangerous team but they just have not been able to put it all together on a consistent basis. They are having trouble getting it done in 90 minutes and I think that will be their downfall in this match. If Italy comes out with the same intensity and offensive style of play, they should win this game.

England -138 - It is easy to like the Danes in this situation given the circumstances. Moreover, you have an England team that loves to choke in these situations. However, I am going with them in this game. Denmark has beaten Wales, Russia and the Czechs to get here. Yes, England's schedule has not been that brutal either but, their victory over Germany was a big deal. Historically, that is a game they usually lose. Yes, Germany is not as strong as they have been, but that really does not matter to me. I thought they would still be happy to have beaten Germany in the Ukraine game, but they completely dominated them. I do not love betting England at these odds in a match of this magnitude, but they are clearly the better side and they get to play at home, which is a big deal. While the Danes would be a great story, I just do not see them winning this game if England comes to play. I see England winning this game in regulation and then we will see what they have in the final!

Okay, one of my biggest issues with the game is time. How can you have 9 substitutions and 2 goals and have only 3 extra minutes. Why? Because it is a German ref. If he was English, there would have been at least 5 and likely 6. You rarely see a full 90 minutes of play anymore and it is something that should be changed.

Need Italy to finish this one!!

Okay, my second rant of the day. No way in hell a game like this should be decided by penalties. At this point in the tournament they should play until there is a winner. This is an argument I have had with my European friends for decades and I will never change my mind. If they know you do not have penalties to fall back on, the extra time would be even better. They do it in hockey, why not here.
