tourney at Bookmaker:

Parnevik -120 over Maruyama

longtime player here with some very high finishes over a first timer. Would think with the adjustment of the format and different courses, experience may be more important here than some other places

Round 1 plays (1pt unless stated):

Robert Allenby to beat Chris DiMarco +100 @ Sportingbet and Boyle Sports [1.5pts] LOST by 2
DiMarco has played the Palmer Course at PGA West twice in the last four years, shooting 74 each time; no such course problems for Allenby with 69-70 over that period

Lucas Glover to beat Heath Slocum +110 @ ToteSport LOSY by 1
Rounds of 67-65 around La Quinta compare favourably against Slocum's 72-71-72-68 over the last 4 years and the windy conditions should work in Glover's favour as well

Daniel Chopra to beat Rod Pampling -107 @ Pinnacle LOST by 2
With rounds of 70-75 in the last four years around the Palmer Course at PGA West, Pampling looks another player to oppose on this course; Glover's four rounds have all been 70 or less

Mark Hensby to beat Rod Pampling +150 @ VCbet and BlueSq [0.5pts] WON by 2
Will also oppose Pampling with Hensby whose record around the Palmer Course may not be as good as that of Chopra, but he is a significantly better player in windier conditions

1st round:

Usually I like to look at 1st round matchups and find the fishiest line and play against it - this week that to me looked like Na -110 vs Warren - Na obviously fresh on people's minds after his performance lw and Warren a little-known commodity

Took a look at it and liked it a bit more - Na's last round at the Classic Club resulted in an 80 (though he put up a 68 earlier in that tourney) while Charles scored consistently at 71-72 on the tough track

Also have the situation of the world's #140 (Na) at even $$ against the world's #220 (Warren) - and finally, thinking here is that Na may be a bit drained from a long week in Hawaii followed by a quick turnaround due to the Wed start

Charles Warren -110 vs Kevin Na

I also considered a 1st round fade of Na. Held off, though. GL

ok, so it was Daniel Chopra who has had 4 rounds of 70 or less (66-69-70-69) in the last four years on the Palmer Course at PGA West ;)

Outrights:

Chad Campbell(20/1) e.w.
- - I'm very annoyed over his play last week, I wonder how he feels about it.

Lucas Glover(33/1) e.w.
- - I'm fairly annoyed over how crappy he played while frequently carrying my cash during the first 2/3 of last year, I wonder how little he would care if he knew.

John Daly(200/1) e.w.
- - A burr under his saddle this week after playing with patience last week; 9 of his last 16 rounds Wed-Sat in this event with the amateurs/celebrities have been 68 or better.

Steve Marino(66/1) e.w.
- - I was frequently tempted to play him last year, I wonder his thoughts if he could see his backing this week.

Troy Matteson(45/1) e.w.
- - Harry the Hat had a nice chat.

Having four of my horses at Silver Rock today has me nervous about the timing of the very high winds forecasted to arrive late today, and whatever front precedes it.

What do you mean Harry had a nice chat? I didn't see anything from his blog this past week. Are you guys friends, or talk through email?
