Can someone explain this line?

Fri 1/18 231 Mark Calcavecchia (3rd Rnd) -170
12:06PM (EST) 232 Jeff Quinney (3rd Rnd) +140

I would think Jeff would be favored. Is the classic club harder than pga west?

Getting my post count up this week :mj07:
So much for using course history.. trahan 2 times entered.. 2mcs

I was on the Duval Bandwagon coming into this year.. I'm off now :142smilie

Jason Aldred (-105) over David Duval Round 3

More to come, I noticed huge scores at Silver Rock with guys who started on the front ( so in the wind the last 5 holes are brutal)
Look at Petterson and Henrys card

Kyle Thompson (-120) over Jin Park Round 3

Not sure how Kyle will react being so close to the top.. besides that he is playing 100x better than Jin. Jin was dead last in putting last week and looked abysmal this week he also is teeing off last..so hopefully the winds get too him

Martin Laird (+115) over Yang Round 3
Yangs putting has been bad, Laird is starting off on the back and going off earlier. I'm hoping the winds and weather aren't bad.

Stan what are mark and jeffs career averages at the classic club

If wind blows-definately--however beware CC NOT what it used to be--

Changes to Classic Club
A list of the changes made at Classic Club since last year's Bob Hope Chrysler Classic hosted by George Lopez. The holes are numbered in the course's traditional routing, not the routing that will be used during the Hope tournament:

No. 1: No changes

No. 2: No changes

No. 3: A bunker to the left of the fairway was removed. Greenside bunkers were re-sized to allow bump-and-run shots into the front of the green.

No. 4: A large bunker near the landing area for drives was removed, creating a larger fairway. A bunker to the left of the fairway was enlarged to catch more balls that might have missed the bunker and rolled to the bottom of the wash.

No. 5: A bunkers near the green was removed, leaving four bunkers around the putting surface rather than five.

No. 6: The mowing pattern to the left of the green was changed to create more fairway and a better chance for a shot to kick onto the green.

No. 7: Two fairway bunkers were reshaped. The green was also rebuilt, lifting the left side of the putting surface to help hold ball on to the green that previously might have slipped into the lake.

No. 8: A new tee was built to the right of the old back tee.

No. 9: No changes

No. 10: The mowing pattern was changed to create more fairway to the left side.

No. 11: The mowing pattern was change to create more fairway to the left. The green was rebuilt and a bunker was added to the left of the green between the putting surface and water.

No. 12: No changes

No. 13: The back of the green was raised and a bunker behind the green was reshaped.

No. 14: No changes

No. 15: No changes

No. 16: A bunker to the left of the fairway was decreased in size to create a large landing area. The left side of the fairway now slopes back to the middle of the fairway, all to create more aggressive tee shots. The green complex was rebuilt, shifting a bunker in front of the green more to the left and raising the front of the green to help stop balls that were slipping into a lake.

No. 17: No changes

No. 18: Three bunkers were removed, two to the left of the fairway and one to the right where many layup shots were landing. A ball in that bunker would require a hit from the sand over water to the green, a difficult shot for amateurs.

Round 3 plays (1pt)

Antony Kim to beat Todd Hamilton -155 @ Pinnacle and Carib
Short odds, but Hamilton was in a similar position after two rounds on three occasions and last year and shot 80-77-77 in the third round

Tommy Gainey to beat Ryan Moore +195 @ Unibet
Moore deserves to be favourite, but not to this degree (e.g. he ranks 31st in greens in regulation this week, whereas Moore is 102nd)

Troy Matteson to beat Chad Campbell +115 @ Five Dimes
Both well outside the cut line as Matteson was two years ago. On that occasion he shot 65 in the third round and ended in 24th place. No reason to expect he is less likely to bounce back today - he outranks Campbell in drving distance, driving accuracy and greens in regulation so far

Amazing rounds so far by Yang and Jin. I fell asleep and woke up and it looks like Laird blew up on the much easier front 9, I also have Quinney over Calc, so if i can get a split that would be fine.. lmao at calc playing the hole bare foot :mj07:
