Most likely Banks wins by KO.
But I was surprised when I saw the odds. I think Banks should be more like -250.
I think at close to plus 500, Mora is an OK bet.

Banks was very disappointing against Adamek. And it was a bad KO at the end. Saturday's fight is at heavyweight and the crowd will be backing Mora.

Banks was also dreadful against Rossitto and barely survived Castillo. Honestly, Mora is bad, but Banks sucks, too.

Banks might knock him out in the first round. But the longer the fight goes, the more shot I give Mora.

Just me personally - I wouldn't bet on Banks at -700. Banks should win - but he is over-priced.

You can actually get Banks @-450 right now but I'm not biting. Banks probably wins but he's too chinny for such wide chalk odds, for my likes. Mora isn't all that but he can crack a little and it's yet to be seen whether the added weight will help Banks or not. No wager for me but Good luck people!

chris arreola weighed 251

from steve kim maxboxing blog

:nono:

It was a bit stunning to hear that Chris Arreola weighed over 270-pounds when he weighed-in today, but it was all part of a gag as he had weighted vest underneath his T-shirt. His real weight was 251 pounds.

"the bunker"
Just a bit dis-heartening for us Poon bettors. Hopefully it's not as bad as they are saying. 9lbs sounds like crazy weight to lose in just a few days. Perhaps the guy just needs to take a big dump to lose some of that corned beef and cabbage.

9 pounds?!?!..i think for a bantamweight to lose 9 pounds in a couple days he might have to shit a few feet of intestine.....:142smilie

i used him in a par(he`s the kicker, the other 2 are in)based on the comments by the board.....

who knew?.....i may have to hedge....

dude!..lay off the tom yum goong...

anyone remember last time a thai fighter had a significant win overseas?

simchatakiculadfdkfjdf(spelling ??) over monshipour?

Somsak over Monshipour in France, Saman Sorjaturong over Chiquita Gonzalez in a stunner at the Great Western Forum in Los Angeles, Chartchai Chionoi over Walter McGowan in London, but Thai wins in big fights overseas are few and far between (unless you count Thais winning in Japan, of course). .... The Thai Prawet was unlucky to have to settle for a draw with Jose Miguel Cotto in Puerto Rico (Prawet seemed to win that fight)... struggling to think of any others off the top of my head.

Hey all,

My plays for this weekend:

Poonsawat - big. Somehow I am not too worried about this weight talk. I got burned by Dunne over Cordoba but I don't see it happening again. Dunne gets broken down to the body, and then starched to the head. Mid round KO for Poon.

K.Martinez +300 - medium. I really don't see why the odds are so wide here. Ndlovu has already proven himself a notch below world class. Ndlovu is Dunne-like, a good boxer but just a bit fragile. Fightwriter called him 'vulnerable' and I think this is right, so vulnerable that Martinez walks through him. I would make the S.African only the slightest of favorites due to homefield, but I think Kiko takes him out.

J.Chavez +215 small. To me, this is another pick'em fight. Diaz hasn't fought since being brutalized by Pacquiao. Chavez has been recently active, but whether is heart is still completely in it I'm not sure. I think Chavez is more skilled however, and over 10 rounds stands a good chance of outboxing willing but limited Diaz

If all goes well, especially with Poonsawat, then I'm going to put a small wager on Mora. I think the odds on this one are off, and would only make Banks a small favorite. The guy was chinny at Cruiser, and now goes to heavy. Banks was neither a cruiser champ, and had a few close calls. Mora is a slow plodder no doubt, and over 10 Banks could outbox him, but for the price I think that there is a reasonable chance that Mora bullies, tires, and KO's Banks.

Good luck all

looks like a rock....that shocks me.....and i`m a bit surprised j. chavez is a 2.5-1 dog to such a limited fighter...i guess the perception is that jesus is running on fumes...

might be worth a tickle..but,big homecourt advantage for diaz...he`s the chicago based fighter...

btw..the o/u odds on diaz/chavez seem odd...over 7.5 at -460?....set a low-ish o/u but make the odds exorbitant?....

seems a little strange....

Don't read too much into this boy's. It has been reported that Poon had lost 4 pounds already just going for a morning jog.

They both just made weight. Poon had to step on the scale 3 times but made weight in the end.
