I really feel like telling this one to FUCK OFF!
-------------------------------------------------------------

Just a couple of small requests...

1). I love dogs, but if you own one and walk it, could you please keep it from urinating on my landscaping? Its nice that you keep your pet on a leash, but that doesn't mean they are allowed the full length of the cord. I'd love to be able to enjoy my plants for more than a few years before having to replace them.

2) Violet Way is not the speedway. Just because your house is at the very end of a construction area does not warrant going 40/50 mph or more.

Thanks for the cooperation!:)

This is the best thread on the site :mj07: :mj07: :mj07: Any way you can borrow a pack of dogs and give them a shit ton of fluids to have them piss in tandem on her landscaping?

Since school has started back up, both my wife and I have noticed a disturbing trend of children waiting for the bus who behave in a reckless manner near the street. We have both watched a boy who HAS seen us approaching, and has decided that this is the perfect time to dart across the street. I'm all for making sure people follow the speed limit (yes, this is coming from the guy who has the "I am the Stig" stickers on his Subaru, but I drive the speed limit in the neighborhood), but NO street is ever completely safe if children don't realize the danger. I was taught to recognize the dangers of the street as a kid and not to expect everyone to watch. All I ask is that your kids are either educated to behave appropriately or are supervised. A lot already are, but I want to make sure we do everything we can to keep the neighborhood streets safe.

I'm guessing there isn't a lot of football in the street in your neighborhood? :142smilie

The following replies:

I dont know who your talking about but im on violet way and my car does not go faster than 30 because theres always unsupervised kids running around!!!!

Hetal the speed limit is 15 not 30, please slow down. Thanks in advance!

I agree with Andrea. It is hard enough to watch for children, who you may or may not see until it is too late. Add into that someone running up on you from behind and suddenly you just want to slam on the brakes.

I have lost track of the times where I have turned into our subdivision and slowed to less than 20 mph with no one behind me. The next thing I know, a car turns into the subdivision and has gone a block and a half before I can even get to my turn. I know these people have to be doing close to 40 mph, and there is absolutely no reason for it. Trust me, the savings in time in getting to your house from our subdivision entrance by going 15 mph versus 40 mph is measured in seconds. Avoiding killing or injuring a child or a pedestrian is immeasurable.

Please slow down. Ruining the rest of your life to save a few seconds is hardly a tradeoff you want - especially once it is impossible to go back on the trade.

"Unsupervised kids" are kids playing in their neighborhood like kids should be able to do.

I agree!! These kids are not "unsupervised". The are walking to and from their friends homes, riding their bikes, etc. around the neighborhood that they live in which they should be able to do. Also, I'd like to see more speed limit signs in the neighborhood. Right now I think there's only one, and it's only visible when you're coming into the neighborhood. Everyone needs to be aware that our posted speed limit is 15mph - not 30, or 40....or even faster.

I agree with the comments about "unsupervised" kids. Children routinely play basketball in the street on my cul-de-sac and on Wild Orchid. I just drive slowly as I go by them. After all, our subdivision should be a safe place for children to play in the streets, which is why our speed limit is 15 mph. Parents are typically close by, but parents should be able to allow their children to play basketball in the street without having someone driving like they are in a formula 1 race mow them down. I love seeing children play and have a good time. It reminds me when I was young and did the same thing, and when my children were young.

After thinking about it Andrea, I bet it is the "unsupervised" kids peeing on your flowers.

Wanted to share this for everyone that thinks 15mph is too slow - according to this stopping calculator it takes 10.75 ft to stop when you're going 15mph. At 20mph that distance is 19.11 ft - almost double!! Slower is better in a neighborhood - especially one full of children. It may take a few extra seconds to get home....it may also prevent a terrible accident.
