Letterman made a joke about the daughter who got knocked up and decided to become the spokesman for abstinence. She put her self into the spotlight by doing that and left her self open to jokes.

Palin uses her kids as photo ops.

I do believe that minors should be off limits for jokes but once you turn 18 act like a hypocrite and put yourself out into the public eye like she did you leave yourself open to it.

The point is kids will be kids, and short of private investigation, you never know exactly what your teenage children are up to.

First of all I practiced unsafe sex in high school but I always pulled out wayyy early.

Palin gets bashed because she brings on alot of it herself.

I do not condone making fun of kids or calling them sluts, however I also do not condone Palin using her daughters as props.

Its obvious the boyfriend staying with bristol and talking about marriage was just a lie.

Also I do not believe that Bristol wanted to go on this speaking tour and become the spokesman for teen abstinence. I think that it was mommys idea for her to go out and take this position.

And as soon as she decided to go out and lecture kids about sex she opened her self up to ridicule and jokes. She is an adult now and has to suffer thru the jokes.

I gotta say, I think Shawn is pretty much right with his comments on this. No way (IMO) Letterman was talking about the younger daughter, that's not his style. I think anyone making that jump is trying to make something that isn't there, which is nothing new, really.

It's the hypocrisy and supposed outrage of Palin and company that makes it different in my view. She and others used the special needs kid for every possible sympathy connection and vote that she could get. Criminy, the kid was treaded like a football, getting handed off every time there was a camera in view. And the pregnancy, kid father dance, and justifications that were made when none of that would be ok from Palin if it were someone (anyone) else is just a joke. I think that happens a lot to supposed strict conservatives, having to realize that taking a stance and position at times to score points is not so easy to live up to when things get tough. Like Cheney and his daughter, etc.

I hope Palin is a contender in the next election for two reasons. She is nice to look at, and, um, she is nice to look at.

Its interesting what he said about Bush and the way he just drove his platforms right thru and didn't give a shit what the democrats thought. Now we have Obama and 60 senators and he wants to work with the republicans.:shrug: When the Republicans say the Dems are weak this is a prime example, then again they get lobbying dollars also so they will play a good game on what the people want and then find a way to stop it. This system is so screwed up and the politicans just love it.
