21 year old handles DLH in sparring

21 year old handles DLH in sparring

"Ortiz wouldn't admit it at first, but in so many words he eventually confessed to handling De La Hoya in a recent sparring session. "

Ortiz is certainly a bigger dude than Paq- I would call him a large light welterweight who at 21 will likely grow into a welterweight within 2 years or so. He is a bit hittable though and needs some defensive work. Not many of us get a chance to beat up the boss/CEO. There were rumors about Ortiz being sent home and apparently they were true. Now we know where the shiner came from.

This guy Hauser as many of you know is one of the better, well-researched boxing writers and he suscribes to the theory that most here do - that size matters.

Paq is growing on me as a very giving, kind-hearted person and I happen to see De La Hoya as a Me, Me, Me type , completely full of shite, say anything to sell. I'd hate to see the financial carnage of all the big DLH backers here, but I'd love to see Paq make DLH quit in the last round. That being said I bet with my head and I'm parlayed in on DLH around -125 or so and have to decide this week to guarantee some profits, or stick with all the "size queens" :mj07: here

NJ, I am gong to join Ladbrokes if this fight wins.
I already maxed out at Skybet a few times on Oscar inside 3 rounds at +900.

Crow, In Pacs second loss it did not take much to make him quit. It was a long time ago, he was weight drained and he did not want to be there as he had lost his title on the scales but I believe when someone gives in a fight, it becomes easier to do a second time if things are not going his way.

Punch, I am not one of the weight queens. I think weight will be a big issue of course but I think this fight will be won on speed. Not Pac's but Oscars.
Against Mayweather, Oscar was really Fukin fast for the first 6 rounds and I think that will be the shocker in this fight.

Another fighter I can think of who is doing a Manny is the great Duran. He started his career at 119 and won the Middleweight title.
The thing is, when Duran moved up in weight he was a much more savvy boxer than the savage lightweight brawler we had known.

Pac will need to do a Duran to survive and even then I think we will be looking at Hearns/Duran reincarnated.

The props have started coming out at 5 dimes.

Also, for those who like Banks against Big Mac, the odds are still at +250 at Skybet.

Good luck all :toast:

anyone else worried oscar carries him a bit, to make the fight look more legitimate and competitive than it is? i see manny being staggered in the first few rounds by a counter shot, but does dlh take him a few more rounds for the sake of the event, or does he go for the kill right away? if there is beef its between roach and oscar, not pac and oscar, they probably get along fine.

At the "other" site there is a guy that posts his boxing picks and he is damn good. He likes Oscar in a big way. I have been tracking this guy and he is astute. Weasel knows what I'm talking about.

For the record, Weasel doesn't know what you're talking about :mj07: Or I've been conned.

Frank, you mind sharing the "other" site? If you prefer, I could email you privately?

When you go to see a doctor, and he wants you to take medication, he gives you a -------------- to take to the pharmacy. Begins with the letter between O & Q. If a guy is crazy they say he is a Maniac, or just change the M to a Br when you get where you need to go. Cryptic enough?:mj07:

Paq is growing on me as a very giving, kind-hearted person and I happen to see De La Hoya as a Me, Me, Me type, completely full of shite, /QUOTE]

I could not agree more mate.
I also loved Ricky Hatton to death and thought Pretty boy was a complete Prick but I loved Ricky even more as he was faceplanting into the turnbuckle.
You would not believe the love I felt for him at that moment :00x1

I'm sure you and Weasel didn't miss my next statement, that I'm presently parlayed in on DLH. I'm in this to enjoy boxing and make money and I don't get fooled by the warm fuzzies for any fighter.

Frankie

any idea what the Oscar line is looking like on the strip?

I'm thinking of trying to bet Oscar their... rather than online

The best I could find on Calzaghe overseas a few weeks ago was -220

heard from several sources he was 2 to 1 at a few Vegas casinos

kicking myself over that one...for the big bets the few points make a huge difference

As I pointed out, I have seen him -190. One place was Cannery East, which is hooked up with 4 or 5 other joints. Also the Stratosphere had him around the same. I personally moved it a nickel at the Cannery, but that was 3 weeks ago. Stations has him-200. When all the Philipinos show up and pound the number, Oscar should be -180. Sharps might be waiting for it to drop also. Manny is like royalty to his people and they will bet him even if he had a chefs knife sticking in his head on fight nite. If I get my lazy ass moving around town I'll give you the 411 on anything I come across.

Oscar was sitting at -185 at the MGM Grand sports book as of Nov. 22 (I was there for the Hatton fight). For those interested in line movements, De La Hoya opened at -160 at the MGM on Oct. 9 but had been bet up up to -210 by Nov. 13, since when money has obviously shown quite strongly for Manny. (Information from the MGM's betting sheet.)

Stations Casinos; DLH-190; today, 12/01/2008. As FR said, there may be better #'s around. Maybe a nickel or possibly a dime even. Trend is $ leaking in on Pac-man.
