Can't speak to Ohio. Never been to the midwest but I am guessing the rural areas went for Trump as they did in most places even in California. Difference is probably Hillary didn't dominate like she did in other cities, especially in blue states. Due to the electoral college the value of the rural vote is much higher then large metropolitan area. A vote in Wyoming is about 4 time the value as in California Is it fair? No but it's the law of the land and will never change in my lifetime.

Throw out the felon vote in Va, the 1 million illegals estimated to have voted plus other illegal voting and
the totals would be different. Even in NC they found the Durham polls were left open for 4 extra hours so voters could be bused in.
Bottom line Podesta should have had HRC in Wisconsin, Pa and Michigan more and she would have won.

Well, you can point to small town Ohio that has lost manufacturing jobs for 20 years or you can look at the capitol city which is attracting companies like Amazon to set up shop.
