Just an observation

Just an observation

Seems like more attention given to the guy in Louisiana than the 5 totally innocent folks who were killed in Dallas, not only here, but all over news and net. Seems that most no longer respect the law. Might be part of the problem.

You have to admit which ever side you take that there is a major problem going on & it's not getting better.
Copied from article, this kinda sums it up for me."Here in the United States, we need to open our eyes: Dismissing police killings as solely the responsibility of brutal, racist cops lets the rest of us off the hook a little too easily and makes us too quick to accept Band-Aid solutions ? a prosecution here, an apology there, a redoubled effort to recruit more black cops somewhere else. Until we acknowledge that police killings are just one symptom of a host of broader societal problems, we?ll make little headway when it comes to meaningful reform".

I just watched the two videos from the shooting in La. I don't really know how to express my feelings.

Were the cops called because the victim threatened someone with a gun? When they got there did he comply?

All I could see was them rolling around and they shot him.

Did they find a gun on him after it was reported he threatened someone with it? Was he going for a gun prior to being shot?

Was there a non lethal way that the situation could have been resolved?

I don't know if there any easy answers in this instance.

Are there videos of the shooting in Mn?

How is killing cops going to fix any of this?

More hate and violent crime isn't going to solve anything.....

So I just read that the two officers involved in the shooting of Alton Sterling have been investigated 5 times in 7 years for the use of excessive force with several other complaints dismissed without investigation. I mention this because I'm curious as to how many others heard this?
How many of you heard about the criminal record of Alton Sterling shortly after he was executed?

This problem isn't going away. It isn't going to fix itself and it certainly isn't a new one. The majority of society will bury their heads in the sand until the next harbinger of the end times happens, at which point they'll again send prayers via social media and alter their profile pic to indicate their "support".

What's your point? Okay so 108 officers were killed in 2014, that number includes k-9 officers as well. How many weren't armed?

Why is it that society thinks a uniform somehow removes human elements. Not all black people are drug addicted, welfare recipients just like not all people or police are racist like hedgehog. They're human and have faults. That's not the problem or point. The issue at hand is the failure for everyone to acknowledge that there's a problem. Officers kill and they get a pass. Every single damn time. You've never lived in a black poverty stricken area, you've never seen your 18 year old son laying dead in the middle of a street for jaywalking. I deal with law enforcement all the time in a professional setting, I've physically witnessed the God complexes at times. By more than you think, I've heard them use racial epithets, more often than you think. They're human, they have faults, just like those they are chartered to protect. The difference is they are and have been given a free pass and have very little worry about recourse. People get sick of that shit and want answers. How would you like it if your kid was gunned down at a traffic stop, or tased twice, handcuffed and the lifted by your cuffed arns and dropped face first with your arms cuffed behind your back into a curb sending you into a coma. For what? Police CONSISTENTLY try to violate constitutional rights by demanding I.D., lying about the laws, threatening you with increased legal actions if you don't comply etc.... etc..... etc.... and still no recourse! That's not good police work, it's breaking the law, nothing more nothing less. It's violating someone's civil liberties and they should be just as accountable for their actions as every other citizen. Authority always perverts in the end. An example of why people get a bad attitude toward them. Within hours of Alton Sterling's death the police released his juvenile and criminal records and they did it for one reason. To publicly smear his name and get the racists on their side. Those officers had no idea who they were trying to subdue. They didn't ask any questions, they tased, tackled, killed, and then tried to muddy the victims name before they even made a statement. That's a criminal act, like or or not. So maybe some are sick of being dismissed and discriminated against. Maybe a little accountability goes a long way.

Just to be vehemently clear, absolutely nothing I've written above means I'm anti police or care more about one person or the next. I am merely trying to illustrate a point that I see as part of a problem in our country. That's it.

Hope this helps,
FDC

This is what i belive will come about after all these shootings by cops

BE FUCKING PREPARED every day for the rest of your life eve3ry city town in usa is now at risk of lone wolfs just going off whenever they feel like it.

If Dallas incident dosent frighten the shit out of you then your walking numb nuts half dead.

:Kid1:

I mean really any time any day some nut job decides to go atop a roof with one of those army assault rifles with a 30 clip magazine and just starts popping off innocent civilians like he was in an arcade.

Truly belive this we are headed for an all out Racial war. Like worse than the 50's and 60's

I do not go to any free music festivals here in philly pa nor any where else where i'm exposed to dangers of terroist attacks.

WTF look at that Dallas sniper what they found at his home

DJ needs to settle down...........

You have a video that 50% of the people see it one way and the other 50% see it the other way.......If these subjects would stop resisting it's more than likely they'd still be alive (but going to jail), yet no one seems to bring up the fact that they chose to resist arrest.......If I was a cop and had a 5'10'', 310 lb guy fighting me while carrying a gun and shit was going south I'd more than likely shoot too........:0008

I understand both sides of the argument and I'm somewhere in between both sides but I know damn well if a cop tells me to drop my pants and take a shit, that's exactly what I'll do. No resistance from me at all. I'll take it up with the authorities about him abusing his power at a better time. :0008

See, the voice of reason......All these protest, Black Lives Matter, DJ's yelling and scream there points do nothing but stir the pot and get people on tilt.....They are reactions, not solutions to the problem......And solution starts with respect of each other and the laws of the land......:0008

Okay sports, if an officer stops you on the street and arbitrarily asks for some i.d. without cause, and the person asks, "am I suspected of committing a crime and if not I choose not to give you my i.d. and be on my way", the officer responds with, "I'm asking for your I.D. you need to comply".
"Am I being detained for something, because unless you say I am and give state the probable cause for my detention, I'm going to keep moving as allowed me by the constitution of the United States".

"All I want is to see your identification"

Who had broken the law already? Who has super powers in that scenario, anyone?
So if I exercise my civil rights and liberties and don't freely waive my rights, and this turns into an altercation and arrest or I get killed, you're answer to that is I should have complied? Not that the officer who clearly broke the law, violated my rights, used excessive force, usurped the constitution, and clearly violated all aspects of his oath of office should be excused. Maybe suspended for a week?

Meanwhile, I'm dead because I have rights and had the nuts to exercise them, when they should have never been denied me and should be afforded to all citizens without fail. That's your solution?
