There has to be consequences for the officers that fubar these situations.

The Watts riots didn't happen when the video of Rodney King was released. The riots started when the 5 officers were acquitted of any wrong doing.

Without justice there will be retaliation.

How many officers have been charged and convicted in these shootings?

Where it is real F ing COLD
37% of unarmed people killed by police were black in 2015 despite black people being only 13% of the U.S. population

I like a numbers guy. What's the make up of the other 63%?

To BP's question on the media, it's because all the media's days of just reporting the news is far gone! It's agenda driven and it's about the reaction. Does a story of some white kid being killed by the cops carry the same outrage?

Well where is the social media aspect of it? There has to be some type of recording.

I don't doubt

I don't doubt

that minorities are treated differently than most whites by white police, all you have to sit down, take a deep breath, look at violent crime stats in big cities such as Chicago, 2000+ shootings so far in 2016.
http://www.cnn.com/2016/07/05/us/chicago-violence-july-4/

They say Black lives matter, yet in Chicago the violence against their own kind is alarming. Naturally nation wide white police are going to react differently, not saying it is right, but they are humans biased by reality.

Thats just ONE major city....add in Detroit, Cleveland, Baltimore, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, on and on. Cleveland has the Repub Convention in 2 weeks.....gonna be ugly.

.....where is REAL black leadership like Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, MLK Jr, ?????? They are the so-called voice of reason.....

FDC you are surely passionate, surely there is a conservative black action committee in your neck of the woods that would welcome your input?

Which is exactly what police were hoping you'd think when they illegally released his records to the public, because that's how our justice system is supposed to work, right?
Let me ask you this, do you see homicide anywhere on his record, do you know of anyone on death row that hasn't committed a murder?
He's been put down by the justice system though. Sorry, i don't agree with that.

You know, I'm not sure DM, I would like to think so. Most of my free time is spent with various dog rescue and animal cruelly prevention foundations. I've recently even graduated to heading the state mandated class given as a sentence to cruelty offenders. I'm quite proud of that to be honest.

I did see some stats on big city violence that was attached to the stats I posted earlier. I can post them if you'd like. Surprisingly not all big cities are prone to violence.

good question BP, maybe it just doesn't get the play as much so not as popular, not sure how the social media contents gets boosted when it does?? Or maybe they just don't think at that moment to record it.

Hate that he lost his life, but he would have been alive if he would be in jail for the combined 17 offenses. I don't get involved with the politics on MJ's, but FDC you absolutely should never use the phrase you did in the shitcanned thread,

"You always think you're view is the only one that matters "

Dude, if you read your posts, this is the pot calling the kettle black. And I like you. Again, have fun with the Hedge at your baseball game. Should be a lot of fun for the fans surrounding you two. Please let them watch the game with their children for enjoyment. :0008

And dude, that's fine with me. I'm not saying you have to shed a tear, but it's my opinion that everyone should be questioning how he ended up dead.
Police didn't have this information prior to killing him. They hadn't identified him and didn't know his history. Not only that, i don't care how many misdemeanors a person has. It shouldn't add up to death.

I think you'll find more than misdemeanors on that sheet, my point is the law of averages will catch up with you.....And I do believe the police were summons to a call involving a gun, so I would be on edge especially when the confrontation turned physical.....Admit it, this guys knew he screwed up and was going back in the can, he fought and he lost.....

Perhaps we should start listening to someone who was there and appears to be completely objective about the entire situation. Maybe.

Peace! :)

Both cops were wearing body cams but neither of the two were working at the time.

Well, they were at a convenience store and that excuse seems convenient so, according to some, it's plausible.

I never once said I felt sorry for cops. I said being a cop would suck. I think being a teacher would suck. I think being a garbage man would suck. I think being the POTUS would suck. And again, I don't feel sorry for any of the people doing those jobs. This thread was about a cop and I simply commented about that.

Yeah most jobs suck. :mj07::mj07:

You think about the harm and distress he caused to the many victims
of his violent acts. There were probably MANY he "got away with"... a veritable POS like this in days of old would have been put down like the rabid dog that he was without so much as a second thought.

No tears shed, whatsoever....

The 217,000 names of people who have permits to carry is not public information. Therefore, it is not in fact known if Castile really did have a permit. Public Safety Commissioner Mona Dohman would not confirm that information because it is part of the official investigation.
