I am assuming USC and either AU/FL runs the table. (big assumption)

Right now USC is #2 in both polls that weigh in the BCS. Right now USC has stronger SOS (3rd BCS component) than all SEC teams and USC still has their toughest opponents at the end of the season. IMO, if AU/FL or anybody else wanted to jump USC in the polls, they should have done it by now. Especially with USC not blowing out opponents. It will be too late in Novemeber, especially if the USC blowouts start to happen in OCT. which I predict. In Nov. USC will impress polsters week in week out by beating Oregon, CAL, ND and UCLA consecutively. TOUGH to jump USC after winning each week against those teams. We already know it is extremely difficult to jump teams in the polls and it rarely happens. A team usually must lose for them to be jumped. That is just the way it is.

The computer polls that determine SoS do not factor in the types of games like Oregon, where that team should have clearly lost. Oregon and Cal play, one will knock off the other (most likely Oregon beating Cal) and then Cal probably wont even be ranked. Then, Oregon will start to show its true colors and begin to lose games because they are o-v-e-r-r-a-t-e-d.

As the year progresses, the PAC10 always gets weaker. Man, that should certainly impress the polsters! The SEC might start to knock each other off as the season progresses, but the polsters realize the conference they play in and thats why SEC teams remain in the top 10 after a loss to another top 10 SEC opponent.

Good Sec team against good pac 10 team:

TENN 35 vs CAL 18
TENN (4th-6th in SEC) CAL (2nd-3rd in PAC10)

Harder to run the table in pac-10 I need some of that stuff your smoking!! What a joke!! The reason SEC teams schedule 2 ooc easier games is because SEC schedule is so difficult!! Pac 10 has 7 pansies that are same caliber teams as SEC 2-3 Out of conference games!! I am not SEC bias. I am a capper first(damn good one) so I see over all picture not tunnel visioned like majority of folks!! I have won lots of money betting on overs in the no defense Pac-10 and do admit USC has a good team but no way they compete in the SEC or big ten every year for a championship!! Playing seven pansies and 2 hard games in Pac 10 not many injuries happen. play SEC or big ten schedules and see how many injuries happen!! Everyone has a right to there opinion so not arguing anymore wasting capping time but look at the trophy case: SEC most National championships!! coming out of toughest conference!! Speaks for itself!!

When Pac 10 teams beat each other it is a sign of weakness. When SEC teams beat each other, it is a sign of strength. :mj03:

Top 25 rankings are based on wins/losses. So if you schedule tough ooc, lose, and then lose a conf. game you will be out of the top 25. (Pac 10) If you schedule piss poor OOC games and lose 1 conf. game, you still be ranked in the top 10. (SEC) All about wins/losses. But that is why Pac 10 does well in computer polls and SOS and SEC doesn't.

I'll take the first 3 teams in the SEC conf. alphabetically to prove my argument.

TOUGH Teams on Alabamas schedule?
Hawaii
Vandy
La. Monroe
Arkansas
Duke
Ole Miss
Florida International
Miss St.

Tough Teams on Arkansas schedule?
Utah State
Vanderbilt
Southeast Missouri State
Ole Miss
Louisiana-Monroe
South Carolina
Mississippi State

Tough teams on Auburns schedule?
Washington St. (pansy from Pac 10, right)
Mississippi State
Buffalo
South Carolina
Arkansas
Tulane
Mississippi
Arkansas St.

:mj07: :mj07: :

Pac 10 teams play 7 pansies. I guess SEC teams do as well. Oh lets not forget SEC teams are afraid to travel and play home every week.

Are there any intelligent SEC fans out there? I am done running circles around dlvlsu.

Well, your covetted polsters seem to come to that conclusion, thus concluding that SEC > PAC10 in terms of SoS.

Just go look at the historical rankings. There are SEC teams with one loss that are higher than undefeated PAC10 teams.

Try to use a little logic...

Scott your an idiot!! If you cant be objective enough to see true facts and the overall picture then your a fool! I know it and everyone on here basically knows it! He is blinded by the BS. gators4life He cant see the truth!! Let me just say this Scott your short run is over!! even if you do win your weak ass conference every year you will lose in bowl games against superior teams!! Think about this numbnuts: there are 5 teams in the SEC (AUBURN,TENNESSEE,LSU,FLORIDA, GEORGIA) that could win the pac 10 every year if they were in it!! How many in the pac-10 can say the same thing????????? One!!!!! (USC) thats it!! big difference HUH numbnuts Run circles around that and bend over!!

"there are 5 teams in the SEC (AUBURN,TENNESSEE,LSU,FLORIDA, GEORGIA) that could win the pac 10 every year if they were in it!! How many in the pac-10 can say the same thing????????? One!!!!! (USC) thats it!! "

I think you are saying that only USC would have a chance to win the SEC while all those teams could in theory win the PAC. If this is your argument I would agree with you.

What I don't understand is the biased manner you conduct your arguments with.

Once again, other than Scott, no PAC 10 fan I know disputes the strength of the SEC. YOu do have to admit that the SEC is very Top Heavy though. And to say that USC only plays 2 decent games a year is a little hyperbole after looking at the typical SEC schedule.

In reality we are both right: Think about it. USC has to schedule stronger OOC because of the perceivedf weakness of the PAC right now and the SEC powerhouses feel the need to take a break from their schedule by playing a fairly non-competitive OOC.

But if you are to compare the overall games, inclusive of OOC and IC, you will see that the best teams play about the same level of competition. That includes road and home games which no one can truly predict the strength of the teams in advance.

But in all honesty, why is this so important to you? 99% of the PAC does not care about the SEC. We acknowledge the conference and respect it.

We get our backs against the wall with the constant attacks on the integrity of the conference.

Good luck to your Tigers on Sat

I'd agree with your argument that the PAC10 has to schedule stronger OOC because they are weak...but people are presenting polls that claim the PAC10 has "edged out" the SEC in terms of SoS. That is complete BS, lets be serious here.

Why was Auburn was left out of the NC game 2 years ago. SEC schedules are weak. This is why an SEC team will be left out of the NC game again. Only FL and TN may have legit arguments if they run the table but doubt they could jump USC. I don't think Floridas win over Arkansas St. at the end of the year will jump them past USC. :142smilie You just look at couple big games SEC teams play but fail to look at the entire schedule. You also fail to look at the entire SEC conference. My post above took the schedules of Alabama, Arky, and Auburn. They all play an easy schedule. All 3 teams play in the SEC. SEC as a conf. play easy schedules which = more wins = more teams ranked in the top 25. wins/losses determe top 25 ranking. polls/SOS determine BCS NC. If you are a Pac 10 team, you are glad SOS is factored in the BCS because the Pac 10 in general plays the toughest schedules in the country.

Try to use a little logic...

Ok, I will use SEC logic on Pac 10 teams. :lol2

WASHINGTON would be 5-0 with a typical SEC schedule. Instead of traveling @ #13 OU (big no no in SEC), UW plays LA. MONROE instead. 5-0 and looking like a top 10 team!!!!

CAL would be 5-0 looking like world beaters with a typical SEC schedule. Instead of opening season traveling across the country @TN with NEW QB (big no no in SEC), play BUFFALO instead. 5-0 and top 5 ranking. The SEC WAY!

WASHINGTON ST. would be 4-1 with typical SEC schedule. Instead of traveling @ #3 AUBURN (big no no in SEC), play Florida International instead. 4-1 record, close loss to #2 USC, looking good!!!!!

OREGON ST. would be 3-1 with typical SEC schedule. Instead of playing @ #20 Boise St. (big no no in SEC), play Arkansas St. instead. 3-1 record, only loss to undefeated CAL. Not bad.

ARIZONA would be 3-2 with typical SEC schedule. Instead of traveling across the country @ #8 LSU,(big no no in SEC), play CITADEL instead. Only losses to undefeated USC and undefeated Washington. NOT BAD. BRUTAL SCHEDULE! SEC WAY!

PAC 10 sure is looking good with these easy SEC schedules. I guess the entire country would be impressed by the Pac 10. NOT ME. I look at who you play and where you play. Beating cupcakes means $hit to me. Loading your schedule with home games is easy. I would slam the Pac 10 just like I slam the SEC.

Who can dispute anything I have posted?

Scott, I actually agree with your last post>>>

except I think that you continuously riot and put the SEC supporters on the defensive and they take shots at the PAC. The logic of the scheduling does make sense it all senses.

Living out here in GA has given me a new appreciation of the SEC and the ACC etc. I have traveled to their stadiums as well as have to every PAC stadium. I believe that many people on behalf of the SEC have never seen a game outside of the South, and no this is not an invitation to bash the SEC OOC. They are quite passionate about their football out here.

But I also feel as many of the SEC fans are quite disrespectful of the PAC or any team outside of the SOuth. the SEC is religion to many of these folks.

It really does no good to argue anything as religion is hard to overturn no matter how we spin it.

If you take what I posted above, and multiply it by 5 or even 10 seasons, you will get false impressions on those Pac 10 teams and conf. as a whole. They become the SEC. These Pac 10 teams would never be tested outside of conference play, rack up W's, get high top 25 rankings, and everyone is impressed. The only people who are not impressed are those who actually look at who and where they played. The #1 problem is fans and even voters just look at wins and losses. That is why most think the SEC is so superior to everyone else. They rack up wins with easy schedules. Then their conf. games give false impressions of powerhouses facing and knocking each other off.

I agree southerners are passionate about football. WAY more than the fans out west. I think that is awesome! However, just because you are more passionate, doesn't mean your teams or conference plays better football. That is where SEC fans are delusional. If you are going to debate strength of teams/conferences, you have to put your passion aside and look at the hard core data.

Dont kid yourself, USC went to the national championship because the media wanted it. The media is clearly tired of the USC train by now.

You posted those schedules, but then completely ignored Arkansas playing USC, practically half of Auburn's schedule (oh this little team called The Gators, LSU Tigers, Georgia Bulldawgs, etc).

You're biased, and you dont present valid arguments. :scared

You keep asking us to look at "data." If you really want to do that, then Oregon slaughtered Oklahoma on paper (yet needed numerous help from the refs), Washington State beat USC (they lead every stat except for ToP), Washington State should have slaughtered Baylor (but only won by 2 points?), etc.:mj07: :mj07: :mj07:

There are far more factors to consider over some paper stats; thats why nearly everyone in the biz, even people working for ESPN and ABC, are criticizing the BCS for not using enough human data.:nono: :142smilie

I can understand how you'd like to use paper stats, though, its another one of those factors that "really helps your cause.":nono:

USC, UCLA and Washington are three of just seven NCAA Division I-A programs that never faced a non-Division I-A opponent since the current division setup was established in 1978. The others that have yet to play a non-Division I-A opponent since the advent of the current format are Michigan, Michigan State, , Ohio State and Notre Dame.
That's three Pac-10 schools and three Big Ten schools for those keeping score.

Dont kid yourself, USC went to the national championship because the media wanted it. The media is clearly tired of the USC train by now.

USC went to the NC because they were ranked higher in the polls AND had higher SOS. USC will go to the BCS NC again this year because they are ranked higher in the polls and will have higher ranked SOS. NOT WISE to play Buffalo (AU) or Arkansas St. (FL)

Would the media want Ohio St. winning their NC beating Auburn or USC? No question USC. If you are Ohio St. I think you would want to go out beating USC vs Auburn. Leaving no doubts who's #1 and taking down the best program in the nation. Texas did it last year and OSU would want to repeat that. To be the best you gotta beat the best. Auburn is not on top. You have to earn that spot and USC has been numero uno the last 5 years.

Kinda like winning the World Series against the Yankees or the Tigers? I would love my team to win it all beating the Yankees.

You posted those schedules, but then completely ignored Arkansas playing USC, practically half of Auburn's schedule (oh this little team called The Gators, LSU Tigers, Georgia Bulldawgs, etc).

I think it would help if you understood the argument being made.

I was told Pac 10 teams play 7 pansy teams. I was told SEC teams play tough opponents week in week out. So I posted the first 3 teams in the SEC alphabetically and the pansy teams they play. What we found out is the SEC teams play more than 7 pansy teams! :scared

So why would I post Arky playing USC? Or Auburn playing LSU or Florida?

I enjoy running circles around you SEC fans. kurby Just like my Trojans did when they beat Arkansas 50-14 @Arkansas.

Good stuff. :thumb:

Huge props to USC, UCLA, Washington, Michigan, Michigan St., Ohio St. and ND. These programs don't want automatic wins. It is embarrassing to play and beat teams like Buffalo, Arkansas St., Citadel, La. Monroe, etc. Then again, those teams allow SEC fans to pound their chest when they beat them by 50pts!!!!

You're right, they are the best at recruiting; those gifts from boosters sure do help that program!

Can't wait till that investigation pans out and USC has to forfeit its wins and National Championship.

I am not dreaming. That is exactly how it feels to be a USC fan! It is reality! Deal with it. USC is contending for a National Championship in what would be a rebuilding year for EVERY college football program in the country. USC fans are spoiled.
