Well first of all you are talking about two totally different teams. San Fran did well as a team not because Kaepernick strapped a shitty team to his back and took them to the playoffs and superbowl. He is an okay quarterback on a great team.

lets take a look at last year....and this great team....I am assuming you mean their defense....because you cant mean their receiving core which had kyle Williams as a top threat :sadwave: you are saying their defense is why they made it....lets look a look at how many points were scored in each game, and if kapernick did anything to help outscore the opponent when clearly their defense couldn't stop em...

Round 1: SAN FRAN 45 GREENBAY 31

Kapernick rushed for 181 yards and two touchdowns, setting both the NFL single-game record for rushing yards by a quarterback and the 49ers postseason record for rushing, regardless of position. He also passed for 263 yards and two scores. I would say the team carried him.

Round 2 SAN FRAN 28 ATL 24

no need to show stats for this game......9ers were down 17 on the road. at that point, the only single person who can lead a team back is the QB....any mistakes by him, and you are done. If a lineman misses a block, the drive continues....if the QB throws a pick 6, you are down 24....and game over....QB has to be perfect at that point, and he made no mistakes....

Superbowl Ravens 34 49ers 31

once again, we all saw kapernick take the reigns and lead this team back into contention after the defense could not stop flacco and the ravens offense....from a 21-6 halftime defecit, to kapernick having his team down 5 with seconds remaining in the game.

now of course the running game contributed to the 9ers comeback and success in the postseason, but some could argue the reason gore/hunter had so much room was because defenses focused so much no kapernick......... for anyone to say that kapernick was just "part of a good team" that took him to the big dance....well we disagree big time.....a combination of both....sure....but if anything, kap did more then his part...

hey he could end up being nothing in a few years....I am not crowning him right now......like in posts above, I am just confused how anyone could say that this kid does not have the stuff to at somepoint be an elite qb in this game....he has already done plenty in the postseason, and been much more impressive in his young career then a lot of QBS in the league....

sorry again, as I am on my phone and really struggle with hitting the correct letters.

I still think Chitown has a good team this year, but I still think every single NFL front office takes Kap over Cutler, other then possibly Chicago....and I am thinking if they played tomorrow in Chicago, 55%-60% would be betting on the niners ML

They were winning with Alex Smith too. That is all old news, he didn't win shit but helped win a couple of playoff games. So what, Trent Dilfer won a super bowl. Let's look at this year. He's an average qb on an average team that is .500. That means he is an average qb. You want to crown his ass then crown him. Just make sure you get all his swag now because he will be gone in a few years. Also, if the lineman misses a block on third down the drive doesn't continue. No single player EVER wins single handedly. Not now not ever. That's just a ridiculous statement.

If a lineman misses a block on 3rd down, yes the drive continues. They get 4th down.

If a qb throws a pick 6, they don't. The other team scores 6.

I never said kap won it by himself. Just strongly disagree and want people to see that he did much more then just "being there" that some are implying. IMO of course. not saying I am right. Just that I believe it to be so. With alex smith, the niners aren't in the superbowl. Not a chance.

I've seen this story before. And I'm not trying to turn this into a big deal. Was just trying to share a different opinion is all. Ill just do it.

You are right.

Kapernick and niners are an average team. At best.

Bears will host the nfc championship.

We can revisit this thread later this year. If those statements remain true, I will gladly say I was wrong about the bears and niners. Although I do think bears will win 10 and lost 1st round, just think they are not nearly as good as some think.

I do know that one of the most storied franchises who were the superbowl favorites this year, chose to start this kid. And they are planning on investing a lot into him, So if I am wrong about him, that also means sanfran and haurbaugh were wrong. I can live knowing I made the same incorrect assesment as them. I have more respect for them then I do most HC/front office combinations. I think by their recent success its clear they can assess talent accuratley. But everyone misses on players. I guess we shall see.

BING fucking O

Bears have a much more probability of fading. The Seahawks still get Minny at home plus St Louis and Arizona twice, that should be 5 wins off the top of my head. The Bears 3-0 start is nice but Pittsburgh and Minny are lousy football teams. Christ Minny was close to putting them away late in Chico. Have to feel very fortunate to clip Cincy as well. Jay Cutler is the ultimate fade, remember last year.

So has this thread changed from critiquing a young QB to bashing on the Bears? Just want to make sure before my next post in it.

Addict,
The 49'ers were not SB favorites last year. Not at any book I saw.

Jim Harbaugh didn't "decide" to start him, Alex Smith's injury decided it for him. When Smith healed, San Fran was still winning so he stuck with him. Alex Smith at qb and they don't go to the Super bowl? How do you know that? Alex Smith is undefeated in Kansas City with half the talent that SF has?! We will have to see what this season holds but it won't be SF in the SB I promise you that.

Bleeding Purple's brain is frozen over and he is a bitter bitter man so don't listen to a thing he says. Have you ever seen a picture of that goofy fucker? I don't know how doctors were able to add a chromosome to his DNA like that, but they did a fantastic job of it. :00hour I mean look at him......lol

Well you couldn't dispute me, so you resorted to this. :mj07: Of all the pics, you chose this one. I think I look more like "Ike" on South Park.

Women get moisture build up with Purple as well but mostly from spit when he talks......:mj07: .

Couldn't dispute you, I thought you were joking? You know I am right, I am always right...........

You do look like Ike or Terence and Phillip.......

I thought it was a discussion of two ridiculous statements about kaepernick's arm strength and Terrell pryor being better than kaepernick

somehow it turned into a discussion about kaepernick being an elite vs average overall quarterback and now the bears vs the niners

I do like that the best fade on record says the bears are over-rated

Do you think the Bears have just as good of chance as the Seahawks of hosting the NFC title game?

I don't but since you think the same (and that they're over-rated) the bears are probably going 16-0!

Lololol

Shoulda posted MLB this year, 1vice paid me max weekly 8 times, griffin can verify. I even took a couple month break to escape the grind. I think that helped.

I think I posted more football winners than losers last year but could be wrong
