Well first of all you are talking about two totally different teams. San Fran did well as a team not because Kaepernick strapped a shitty team to his back and took them to the playoffs and superbowl. He is an okay quarterback on a great team.
lets take a look at last year....and this great team....I am assuming you mean their defense....because you cant mean their receiving core which had kyle Williams as a top threat :sadwave: you are saying their defense is why they made it....lets look a look at how many points were scored in each game, and if kapernick did anything to help outscore the opponent when clearly their defense couldn't stop em...
Round 1: SAN FRAN 45 GREENBAY 31
Kapernick rushed for 181 yards and two touchdowns, setting both the NFL single-game record for rushing yards by a quarterback and the 49ers postseason record for rushing, regardless of position. He also passed for 263 yards and two scores. I would say the team carried him.
Round 2 SAN FRAN 28 ATL 24
no need to show stats for this game......9ers were down 17 on the road. at that point, the only single person who can lead a team back is the QB....any mistakes by him, and you are done. If a lineman misses a block, the drive continues....if the QB throws a pick 6, you are down 24....and game over....QB has to be perfect at that point, and he made no mistakes....
Superbowl Ravens 34 49ers 31
once again, we all saw kapernick take the reigns and lead this team back into contention after the defense could not stop flacco and the ravens offense....from a 21-6 halftime defecit, to kapernick having his team down 5 with seconds remaining in the game.
now of course the running game contributed to the 9ers comeback and success in the postseason, but some could argue the reason gore/hunter had so much room was because defenses focused so much no kapernick......... for anyone to say that kapernick was just "part of a good team" that took him to the big dance....well we disagree big time.....a combination of both....sure....but if anything, kap did more then his part...
hey he could end up being nothing in a few years....I am not crowning him right now......like in posts above, I am just confused how anyone could say that this kid does not have the stuff to at somepoint be an elite qb in this game....he has already done plenty in the postseason, and been much more impressive in his young career then a lot of QBS in the league....
sorry again, as I am on my phone and really struggle with hitting the correct letters.
I still think Chitown has a good team this year, but I still think every single NFL front office takes Kap over Cutler, other then possibly Chicago....and I am thinking if they played tomorrow in Chicago, 55%-60% would be betting on the niners ML
