I like Sonnen, and I think he is in Anderson's head (only way Sonnen wins is if Anderson moves forward), but yes, the Lance Armstrong comment was stupid.
But remember, there is always the asshole Nick Diaz. Anytime an MMA fighter says something stupid, they should say "Hey at least I am not an asshole like Nick Diaz"

After all the shit he's been talking, I think they're going to need a bodybag for Sonnen after this one is over. I'm not really a Silva fan, but considering how much Sonnen is running his mouth I'd really like to see The Spider humiliate Sonnen. Unfortunately, even that most likely won't shut him up.

And you can cheer for Sonnen knowing what a douchebag he is? I really don't see how he's any better than the Diaz brothers or Lesnar. :shrug: Like I said, I'm not really a Silva fan but I see him as the lesser of two evils.
And FWIW, I never saw the Silva fight where he danced around the ring. I only saw a few clips, and the only thing I saw was him throwing his hands up as if to say "Come and fight ya panzy ass!" If that's all he did, I don't think that's too bad. But judging how much people hated him for that fight, I'm guessing it was more than that.
At any rate, I can't stand shit talkers. I realize MMA is a violent sport and a lot of these guys are Neanderthals so it comes with the territory, but there are some guys in the sport who have class, and those are the guys I typically root for. Sonnen is certainly not one of those guys.

I'm going to wait for weigh ins but if Alves can't make weight and they have to give him additional time then I'm going to put 2 more units down to make it 5 total. If he gets that close to fight time and is still strugling then he's going to be crap for the fight and going up against a cardio machine like Fitch makes for some good money. Alves needs to tone it down on the mass right now. It's useless to him, he can't go up a weight class because he's too short and more than likely he would find he can gain some quickness without that much size. And the most important thing is that maybe he can make weight.
GW, you brought up some of his wins and one was against Hughes but he came in way over weight in that fight and Hughes still took it. Wasn't a fair barometer in my opinion.

I am open to any avatar bet. I got UT dropping a game or two depending on how things go late in games for them.
Tech is the first that I could see going badly for them.

Dos Anjos at -110. I would have unloaded on him until I heard those rumours of him being sick.
He is a better striker than Guida. His murderous leg kicks might slow down Guida's shoot.
Even if Guida shoots and gets him down, he has decent sweeps, is good in scrambles and can catch submissions from out of the blue.
Guida seems to cut easily these day's.
Almeida at -180. Hughes looked old and washed up against Renzo. Almeida is a much better wrestler than Renzo and might get this version of Hughes to his back. If this happens, Matt is in deep shit.
I think Almeida is the better striker and Hughes will want a ground fight that might not turn out to be in his best interest.
