"the bunker"
Cmon man Muhr always comes to the table as well as """WEASEL"""", layinwood and wepaul as well as some others. Most guys just give their opinions just like me. I don't need people to post records to see if they know what they are talking about. Eventually you notice if the guy stays around long enough

THAT`S RIGHT...who could forget my historic ken shamrock play.....

/a week after this pick,i went in for an "asshole transplant"....and the asshole rejected me...:s4:

yea.. i was talking about posting picks, though.. i respect everyone mentioned above and all opinions given (i havent been here that long and dont register everones name).. like i said its one thing to talk about who we think will win, but id like to know how people lean based on odds. just my thoughts... wasnt meant to change the topic of the forum or insult anyone. moreso to encourage people to post their plays (if they r making plays).

ill say it again if i have to.. i dont give a phuck if people post their record (if i could say that in slow motion i would). i merely said i would be starting one myself.

please.. lets move on.

OK Bud. I will be betting on-

Jardine LARGE. Silva is not the same killer since fighting the Pride heavyweights.

Tito LARGE. If people recall, I was the one who said Machido would beat Sokadju and was being truly underated. He is now being overated. He has never had to fight someone with Tito's takedowns. Machida is not used to being on his back. let's see how he reacts.

Nakamura MEDIUM. I think he will be a heavy underdog for Sok but he will spring a surprise.

I was going to bet BJ large but the day I tried to bet, the odds had jumped from -207 to -240. I will wait and hope the odds come down again.

I will have opinions on the other fights depending on odds but I will bet the above fights for sure.

Good luck all.

THANKS WEE !!! :00hour :00hour

i knew there were more picks to be shared :brows:

if all i wanted to do was see who people thought would win i would go to sherdog. :142smilie

im w/ ya on Tito.. and possibly Nakamura but still getting to know a lot of these PRIDE fighters so may pass until im more familiar. And, OF COURSE... the man, the myth, the prodigy...... BJ PENN...

if the line improves in favor of Penn, my marginal play will turn into a BIG one.

check these links out for pics/interviews/insight from the prodigy himself, BJ Penn...

two good handicapping thoughts.......

1) Go against a NHL team playing 3rd game in 4 nights.
2) Bet against pride guys.....I have made about 50 million going aginst Pride fighters......Pride was hugely over-rated, no doubt about that!

Jardine should roll through Wandy:SIB

oh and #3....never bet against GSP:142smilie

I'm still not sure who all I'm taking but the fight that is giving me the most problems is the Tito fight. I've taken Tito quite a few times, some good some bad. One of the biggest plays I've made was on Tito against Evans but we all know how that ended. I just can't decide what I think will happen. For one, I doub Tito will be strong in all 3 rounds. It seems like he's been gassing lately, mainly vs Evans. We have no clue how good Machida's take down defense is and if he does get taken down how good he is on his back vs a very good wrestler.

VERY IMPORTANT
Here's what I do know. The UFC needs for Machida to win and I'm sure Dana would love for Tito to leave with another loss. A lot of what Tito does can be taken away by a ref standing them up quickly.

What's hard for me is that Machida really hasn't faced a high level of competition. Tito has been to war with some of the best and beat many of them. I just can't see Tito training for this like the old Tito use to. He's busy banging his porn star girlie and I believe I heard they were doing movies(not porn). If that's the case then I find it hard to believe he'll beat someone as professional as Machida.

I've decided to just sit back and enjoy the Ortiz-Machida fight and not take any action. Ortiz is a tough nut to figure out. He's been gassing as far back the Forrest fight and hasnt looked REALLY GOOD since the fight vs. Vladdy about 8 years ago (I dont put too much stock in the Shamrock wins for obvious reasons)
However he showed moments in the Evans fight were he looked pretty damn good (I bet evans BIG) but then he nearly shit the bed in the 3rd round. Cardio is not what it used to be.

I just dont know what to make of him anymore. He has other priorities these days (i.e. Jenna plus Donald Trump TV shows) but he has the "style" and experience to beat Machida. Too tough to call. In a 5 round fight I bet Machida to the limit- in a 3 rd. fight Tito may just squeak by. I just dont know.

I agree w/ u both..

It's hard to tell how focused Ortiz is right now.. he seems to have his head elsewhere w/ his girlfriend and other business agendas... for my sake (im playing Ortiz) i hope he is being honest when he says "im taking this fight more serious than i ever have," b/c he'll need to to win this fight.

Hurricane, u said it best.. Ortiz is just a tough nut to figure out.. and for that reason i have never made plays on him.

this time im taking a shot, however, b/c im not quite sold on Machida.. i think he belongs at 185 and dont think he can hurt Tito. if Machida wins it will most likely look like his fight against BJ Penn where he wins by decision b/c he is soooo elusive... Machida has won three of four of his UFC fights by decision as well..

i hope Tito puts him on his back and controls him to win a decision for himself :)

Ohio but not a Buckeye
layinwood-
Machida has definately faced some nice competition.

I'd consider Penn, Franklin(only person other than Silva to beat Franklin), Sokoudjou, Bonner, White, and Heath are are definately some high level competition.

Honestly, Tito has to know that if this fight goes to the ground and if it has any laggs that the ref will stand them up. He has to know that the UFC wants him to lose every way possible.

I expect Tito to try and exchange to win this.

Tito does not usually lag on the ground. He is one of the best ground and pounders while in the opponents guard.

One of his strongest assets was his cardio but that has gone for a shit for the past couple of years.
I am happy this fight is 3 rounds.

I think Tito will ground Machida and beat him up for a couple of rounds and then he will survive the third to win a bogus split decision (all 3 judges should score the fight for Tito but bag licker People's gives it to Machida).

I know Dana needs Machida to win but Tito might be training his arse off to beat one of Dana's future stars as a final parting gift "boot to the balls" of BLAF. Dana is giving him a reason to train hard.

Good luck all.

As strange as it sounds I liked Tito to win because I knew he would just love to get on the microphone and rip Dana White apart. But according to this, even if he wins the UFC won't let him talk:nono:

Also heard on radio that UFC won't let him do any interviews at the weigh-in's or the day of the fight. But how are they going to get away with Rogan NOT interviewing him if he wins. Sure if he loses, ya interview Machida, but if he wins, the crowd may turn on Dana. Be very very interesting indeed:scared

Also, I do think that Tito is taking this fight seriously, if Tito wins Dana will be pissed.....and Tito loves to piss him off. These two hate each-other no question about that:SIB

Bucs, you can't be serious when you say some of those guys. Penn(he's a freaking 155er and was fighting a 205)I don't care how great you think Penn is, he's not a good level of competition for someone that is a good 205er. He can't even beat the top at 170. Franklin is good, good as a 190 guy but that's because he's big for 190 not for 205. Outside of Soku(who I'm being generous giving) they are all C level fighters.

If Tito even thinks he can try and stand he'll get beat with ease. Let us not forget that Tito hates to get hit.

If Tito try's to keep this fight standing and try's to match strikes with Machida, then he would be one dumb Fuker.

I am assuming with a head that size, there must be a brain in there somewhere. Why would God waste all that space.

Good luck all.

If Tito decides to stand I think many of us can kiss our bets goodbye.. and the longer that azzhole Cecil Peoples sticks around :nono: the less respect i will have for UFC... he is a horrible MMA judge.

Im not sold on Machida's competition, either.. as layinwood said, he fought a true 155er in BJ Penn and Heath, Hoger, Nakamura all fit right into Machida's gameplan... dont get me started on Sokodjou. :SIB

Bucs, Penn looked like a kid vs Machida. I don't care what weight class he was in at the time. He was way too small and for Machida to beat him was not a big deal. I love Franklin and that was a nice win but nothing compared to Tito's wins. He's been in the ring with a who's who in mma. If you take Randy and Chuck out he would probably go down as one of the more dominant fighters ever. I don't think he is but if you take those losses out he's got a pretty impressive resume.

I'm flip flopping on the Tito Machida fight. I just wish we knew how into this Tito is. Evans was a very tough fight for him because his strength is Evans strength except Evans is probably better at wrestling and Tito just couldn't hold him down. But, his win vs Forrest looks a lot more impressive these days(i will say I'm not sure he won that fight) now that I look at it I don't even think that Machida has been in the cage with someone as good as Forrest.

All this talk about Tito really taking this one seriously makes me want to laugh. I know he hates Dana but i assure you guys he is not training any harder for Machida as he did for Chuck or Colture or even. I would think he is basically training the same way.

I hope he is training the same way. He was in great shape for the Couture fight. He got beat but he had cardio for day's and was still bouncing around in round five.

Tito has never had a problem w/ his conditioning except maybe versus Evans... and he apparently fought Evans at 80% due to injury (back).

Dont think anyone should be worried about Tito's conditioning, especially in a 3-rounder.. he always comes in good shape. Moreso his determination/focus.

Do his business ventures mean more to him than a future in MMA?? We'll find out May 24th....

:0corn :0corn

Penn line has moved from -225 to -250 in my book so my plays r final (may add an undercard play).

Penn -225 (2 units)
Tito +160 (2.5 units)

cant wait for UFC 84 (& 85)... im loving both of these cards.
