I don't believe that. Sounds to me like Nikolaj was joking and the writer reported it as serious. It just makes no sense. You've got months between when a scene is filmed and when it airs so that would effectively do absolutely nothing other than diminish the amount of preparation the actor/actress could do before filming and I see no benefit to that. I mean if you were feeding certain key lines and then letting the performers ad-lib... but that would be so contrary to the carefully orchestrated and integrated world that GRRM created.

I definitely can believe the performers would only see the pieces of the script that they are involved with and not the whole thing.
